Steel Mace Beginner Education | 360 Swing | Macebell

My neighbour Daniel was interested in learning how to swing a mace and we visited the museum square that is close to our homes to get some sun and swing some maces and clubs. He had no experience yet with the macebell, so it was a great opportunity to make a video about his progression that day. Awesome to see hom swing the 9kg steel mace at the end, that's big weight for a beginner.

I've been working with a heavy club and mace since the start of this year. The club has helped my mace swinging. I recall the first time I swinging a 15# mace and thought WTF! Dropped down to a 10# for about a month and got the techniques down. Now swinging my homemade 27# mace is fun!

I think the benefit I had before working with a mace is I started with heavy clubs. That shorter arm on the club was easier to adapt to the balance on the catch.
