Thank you to the electric line people from all over North America that have come down to help.

I have a question Governor Cooper. People in the state have commented that FEMA has passed them by, that they don’t come back. I saw only one Red Cross table in all of the media reports. People in North Carolina said that they have had to help each other. Neighbors cutting down trees and clearing driveways, putting fences back up and clearing Sheetrock from moldy houses. Also making sure food and necessary supplies were distributed. This was by residents, people that drove to the worst hit areas to bring supplies and people giving other people Star-links. Now there is a big demand for heating issues or no power issues. They need things such as generators, kerosene heaters or safe indoor heaters and propane . They predict some places won’t have anything otherwise until March.
They said Samaritan’s Purse has been the BEST organization to help everyone, and that you see them EVERYWHERE! Also church organizations are a big help. They say donate to specific local organizations . They did say the National Guard was a big help and the Fire Department.. But you don’t hear about more efforts from the Red Cross or FEMA! WHY? And the Red CROSS KEEPS ASKING FOR DONATIONS! There is so much more that needs to be done. I live in Florida, but in an area that had 90 mph winds, we did okay, but still had problems. I feel for the people there.

Even if your house is not damaged, every hurricane is a major disruption. Forced evacuations, power outages, gridlock, gas, etc. Insurance rates will go up for everyone.

Don't forget the death toll is IDENTIFIED bodies. There are a couple thousand missing or in temporary morgues. The actual death toll is massively higher. Thise was a catastrophic disaster for the NC mountains and other mountain areas.

What about the people that have lost their entire house, gone. One fell off a cliff and I’m sure others did. If it wasn’t for private helicopters. They may never have made it alive, one couple only had a bag of potato chips and one bottle of water left between them for days, while sitting in their car. Then a helicopter rescued the wife, but was told he was not allowed to rescue the husband and could have easily be done. He had to leave him there alone, an older man, and the helicopter pilot was threatened with arrest if he went to get him! He could have rescued the husband and then stopped because of N.C. protocol. No common sense there.
Who is going to help them.? They are still paying mortgages. Who will rebuild? They are on their own. Their insurance doesn’t cover it since it was flood damage. There were reports that FEMA was only LENDING them $750. dollars, which in tiny type said that it MUST be paid back, or their property will be confiscated. is this true? Some may have to just LEAVE their land because they can’t afford to rebuild! So does the government get it then? Some GO FUND ME’s started are helping, but they need A LOT! You didn’t give any SPECIFICS Governor Cooper. So MANY PEOPLE STILL NEED HELP, THEY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. AND NEIGHBORS CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH. THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP IN! What will you do?

Looks like politics is more important to this Governor than the people who have lost everything

I find the death toll for Helene hard to believe. My cousin, Tammy, works in Asheville and she saw multiple dead bodies just on her commute to work.

As someone who's been through many hurricanes. I can tell you that living with out water, power, or any other creature comforts could take weeks. We didn't have electricity for 3 weeks. People are complaining that it's been 3 days. Get real.

I don't think there were no misinformation on the helicopter incident that occurred in North Carolina. I think that would be covering that up, wouldn't it

Now i'm not disagreeing that there might be a few assailants. Who's spreading nothing but chaos for their own gain, but as far as I'm concerned, there is no misinformation when it comes down to the few suspicions .

I think Governor Cooper made the lately common mistake: “backslash” while the correct term would be “slash” or “forward slash”. In other way he said “\” when the correct symbol is “/“. Internet addressing does not use the backslash — it is used by Microsoft only.

Am i the only one who sees a resemblance to the bush family? Or maybe it is the way all the "Mis-Information" was flowing so elequintly out of his mouth and the almost smug condescending demeanor.

I hope all are found safe and not injured. Kamala would help but she is busy doing campaigning. I hope democrats are feeling the shame.

Where are your troops to help you????

Your country is busy with genocide...

Get your military and your leaders to fund grand operations instead of your countries pompous, arrogant and vain glory how great you are (not) and help your innocent from their tragedy - i stead of influcting it
