We're looking at widespread property damage, especially to infrastructure like roads, utilities, and buildings. Insurance claims will skyrocket, and the local economy could take months or even years to recover. Businesses will be disrupted, tourism will decline, and many people might face long-term financial hardships. Recovery costs could run into billions, and that's not including the toll on industries like agriculture and fisheries. It's devastating both economically and personally for those affected.

It was a nightmare yesterday after the storm. Waking up to a surreal scenery. Trees hanging over the road, power lines and transformer bucket laying on the road. Being trapped on a one way street. Hearing sirens and seeing helicopters hovering over your neighborhood. No power or water. The bright side of it, I met all my neighbors for the first time. Instead of living in a fear, my neighbors all pitched in and we worked on cutting whatever we could from the fallen trees. Now we can get out of the street. I boiled bottled water on my weber grill to make coffee. Cut the bottom
of the Kerig cup, discovered there is a filter under all the plastic. Slowly poured hot water and it worked. Nice coffee. Should have bought instant. Today we finally were able to get out in the roads and the traffic lights are out along Adamo, Flooding everywhere. No gas available and people impatient. The roads are packed.

I'm on central FL east coast. The outer band hit hard at 3pm. Flooding, high winds and tornado warnings for hours. My hurricane shutters were down but shaking from winds. I was up til 5am due to high winds and banging. My heart goes out to the west coast. ❤

I lived in Florida for 22 years, including 2 barrier islands. I moved back to Massachusetts I just could not do it any longer. As I aged I just could not go through it another year. My ❤️ goes out to these brave people who go through this destruction year after year. I hope your families are well and safe.

The speaker of the house refuses to return from recess early to appropriate more funding to FEMA. So Floridians could be stuck until Nov 11 2024. HOW CRAZY IS THAT😢

What is really sad is the worthless ass congress won’t reconvene early to allocate funds for the people who pay their salaries and need help now not in a month

That devistation is heartbreaking. People please move away from these places. The storms will only get worse. Do not rebuild. Move away.

My friend just left Ft Pierce less than a year ago. He spent several years rebuilding his sailboat there and he’s blessed to be gone now.

Mike Johnson, republican, you better get off vacation and get the money moving for these disaster victims.
Mike Johnson, R Shreveport, Louisiana, speaker of the house needs to do his job but he'd rather stay home on vacation. What are your thoughts people?

Don't walk in this water. My friend, Gary, was in Florida taking care of his mum. He had an open cut on his leg and waded in the flooding waters. He got a severe case of cellulitis and was hospitalized for over a year. They cut a hole in his foot and inserted a tube to drain it plus he was on IV antibiotics for months. If you're high-risk PLEASE don't touch the flooded streets.

*I can see it now...insurance companies arguing with homeowner's whether damage was from a hurricane or tornado.*
