I’m in Spear WNC below my home at the river cadaver dogs and recovery team has been down there for days carefully going through the piles of debris and mud looking for them…I pray they are found soon to at least give them a proper burial and their families some closure

Thank you for covering this. We are without power and water still. We currently use the water from the stream to flush and for chores. It means so much to us to keep on top of this. It’s still unfolding for us.

Why can't we find updated daily numbers of the death toll in NC? What about a current number of missing people still? And no mention of the number of animals/pets that died? What's the big secret? Where's the transparency from the local government?

"We are the only coverage of this hurricane season"
Her we go, hurricane for profit, selling advertising by the dozens, "WE ARE THE ONLY ONES!!"
*Mind you, I prefer to watch private citizen reporting true truth.*

We Californians don't have a clue when it comes to hardship. I know I'll get a battery over that but I've lived in several States and have never seen the like! Accustomed to our tremors, brief nausea was no prob. once I saw the lamp sway, trees leaning when there was no wind. Wind/rain that was not even worth mention on the weather channel, coming in around and under the door in East TX, was nothing! WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN NORTH CAROLINA IS A TRAGEDY BEYOND DESCRIPTION!! We saw homes ripped away and then the land beneath dissolved into rivers that were never there before! 250 (so far) lives lost, wildlife loss--how many? Patrick's Bears: Ruby, the three cubs? Heartbreak like this will heal at the end of the thousand years but not before!

I’ve heard the actual toll is upwards of a thousand. They will never find the bodies under the mud. Entire towns were swept away.

Thing is, it's very possible that disasters worst than the area you just mentioned will cause people to forget about what happened there.

they for sure learned hard from this lesson. listen to warnings and evacuate if they told you to evacuate.there are 3 days to evacuate but most of them chose to stay because they think that was not serious

Nearly 1400 people died in Louisiana alone from Hurricane Katrina. Helene comes nowhere close to that.

At least you upped the number from 230 in the last week and if I hear one more time how people telling the truth about crooked FEMA is stopping them from helping I AM GOING TO SCREAM
