Amen brother, Calvinism is the very definition of Gnosticism

Was looking for this topic because the more I hear and read of Calvinism, the more I am convinced that their god is the Demiurge of Gnosticism. Their beliefs and their god are identical to those of Gnosticism.

Okay, alright, possible finger pointing aside, I want to ask, to specify; are you not saved, through faith in the Lord, in Jesus? Does the spirit not lead you away from acceptance of temptation? Are not works important, that be them good, and for God shall look upon our works as he so does dirt? Did not God make Adam from dirt? I hope I am not misreading, misattributing by making these two statements aside one another.

In my view, faith alone does save, but works are important, yet works alone do NOT atone for sin. I for one hate my sin, dearly I do, I do not partake in it for I am disgusted by it, and as I believe Jesus died and rose again, that he died for my sin, that I believe he did not die so I may live in my sin.

I do want to also mention, that I do not partake in believing in predestination, as so it is taught in Calvinism, as neither do I believe in original sin, while I do believe Adam certainly sinned, I also believe that the son is not guilty for the sins of the father, and as Adam is father to all mankind I do not believe I am at fault for being born into a fallen world.

So, really my asking is this; am I okay?

Brother Tony:

You use the title "Brother". Are you a Monk or are you a Reader? Orthodox, Catholic, or Episcopalian?

Also, I'd like to see you get into the History, going from Simon the Magician to Marcion to Paulicans, Manicheans, Bogomils, Cathars, and Calvin. It would be instructive to see the Evolution of the Cathar Book of the Two Principles to Calvin's Institutes. Nice exhortation, but you need to beef up your History. I would have liked to have seen ore Patristics. The only Patristic Writer mentioned was Augustine. I would have liked to have heard at least the mentions of Sts. Irenaeus, Chrysostom, and Cassian.

‭I John 1:8-10 NKJV‬
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

We are going to stumble and that is part of the sanctified life. You are setting up strawmen against what you dont understand. We dont think we continue in sin but we will make mistakes. You sound pelagian. I pray God shows you.

How about are man made religious back to the word of God ... walk in Faith and obedience, we should all be walking the walk with Jesus. You sir should spend your time reading the word and seeking the lost, and not wasting precious time judging a doctrine that is as weak as your. Faith .. is God's doctrine.

We ARE born corrupt. No this does not apply to Jesus because he is God. Adam brought sin into the world. "In sin my mother concieved me" as David says. This isnt gnosticism, this is truth. Even Christ himself said no one is good but God. How is it antichrist when pointing to Gods soverignty is glorifying Him? God is soverign but we also have free will within His sovereignty. Its both. Its a bold thing to call people who trust in Gods soverignty, antichrist. You dont know peoples hearts.
