I'm reformed, so if anyone wants to know what we actually believe, I'll tell you. We believe that all salvation is God's doing. We believe that we are no better than the worst man in hell. As such, we believe if any aspect of salvation were dependent upon us, we would be without hope. We believe that Jesus Christ begins a work and finishes all that He begins. Do we believe in works salvation? God forbid. By grace we are saved, through faith, and this not of ourselves...it is a gift of God. We believe a person is saved and sealed before they ever turn from a single sin. The Lord is the healer, and we are saved unto good works. Repentance from sin is the fruit, not the root, of true saving faith. And we know that those who abide in wickedness and remain in the world bearing rotten fruit, while claiming to belong to Christ, are liars, as our Lord says that a tree is known by it's fruit. As such, we know that easy believism, the lying doctrine that really is from demons, which says you can pause for one second in your pile of filth, tip your hat to God, and then dive right back into unimaginable wickedness and still be saved, is clearly heretical. We believe in the sufficiency of scripture. We believe God's Word is above all. But we don't make up silly ideas like saying that the Gospel of John has preeminence over the rest of the New Testament in matters of salvation, or that the English KJV Bible is the only true Bible. These are man made doctrines. What we believe, the reformers believed, as it's what the Bible teaches. What Independent Fundamentalist Baptist cults believe is NOT what the reformers taught, nor indeed, what the Bible teaches. But please don't take my word for it. Read the Bible and pray. If any man be blessed by God in that they desire Him truly, such a man will know if what I say is true. If one desires only to defend tradition, or their pride, or the sin in their life, such a man is decieved, accursed, and cannot know the truth.

I am Nepalese and many of you who admired this documentary are not understanding calvanism in the light of the scripture. Who is your God? Is He not Sovereign? Isn't it His will that we may believe in Him and be saved ?. Theres Nothing wrong or false to claim God alone shall be praised. that's what calvanism believes, that's what the scripture says. I am from Hindu family and your power, your will, your decision, your life, and your choice of God and godess was taught to me all my childhood. Thank God alone that it wasn't my idea or will to come to him but because He revealed Himself through His word convincing of my filthy Sin by Holy spirit. If I believe in Jesus it is because of God alone. By faith alone, you are saved and my faith comes from God Himself.

How do you guys reconcile this?:

Part 4 is laughable. How did you guys get that so wrong? You have one guy saying “it’s believe only” and never mentions repentance, while the older pastor rightly does say that we are called to repentance. Jesus began his ministry saying “repent and believe.”

Calvinists don’t believe in works based salvation. That is ludicrous. Instead, we rightly acknowledge that scripture says the saved have been “born again” into “new life” and that if your “new life” looks exactly like your old life then you may very well have been deceived, not saved. Jesus says that those who love Him would follow His father’s commands. Perfectly? Of course not. But a truly reborn Christian should look different.

Boy, you kids missed that one by a country mile!

Hello, I am a Calvinist, so I am not sure that you will even talk to me. I stumbled onto this video by accident. The music was very distracting and somewhat stress provoking and I keep hearing a baby. Anyway, there were several things mentioned that claimed the Calvinist believed this or that but I personally have heard no such thing. If you are interested in having a discussion, let me know.

I’m glad I was smart enough to figure out how to be saved all to the praise and glory of my free will. I was blind but chose to see, dead in sin, but determined to get myself alive.

I think the maker of this video needs to read about church history. The truth is that the United States was founded on Reformed Theology and it wasn't until the 2nd Great Awakening around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries did the United States start turning away from the teachings of the Puritans. It was men like Charles Finney that started the move away from Reformed Theology. The Charismatic movement and prosperity preachers is a direct result of Charles Finney and others like him. I am a believer in the Reformed faith and I would challenge all who liked this video to actually study church history. As brothers and sisters of Christ, we should be willing to study all theologians throughout history and compare what they say to what is in the Bible. If you are relying on any man to teach you and you are not reading the Bible yourself you are falling into the trap of Catholicism before the Reformation in the 15th and 16th centuries. God Bless.

So, this “documentary” not only denigrates John Calvin but the Apostle Paul as well. It was Paul who taught grace and predestination and how God in His Sovereignty gives grace and mercy. Free will however is the doctrines of devils.

Our Salvation is ONLY depending & belonging to the Lord, but not you & me as HE said in John 8:23-28, “Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins”. We are doomed, but only by His truth, love & grace alone!
I believe that is what John Calvin believed & his doctrines…

I like it here in Africa we believe that Jesus did on the Cross for our sins so that we may not die but live even after we die through Him. We don't have all this stuff Calvinist et al. unless for the privilege few who we been able to access such info. Yes we do have false teachers and twisted preachings, but there is a true yearning to know God and this is what has led me here. To some point I don't beleive that all Christians in Africa will go to hell because we are not Calvinist..But we embrace the word of God.
