How Fast Is Your Brain? The Stroop Test

The Stroop test is a task where you have to name the color of the words that are presented to you. It is very hard as your brain wants to read the word itself instead of stating the color. Can you do it?

It was easy until round 4 the letters went way to fast

Here’s my internal monologue for round four: “Okay, Ready! Blue- Hey! These things are going too- Oh, it’s over!” 😂

Weirdly, it gets more difficult when the word and color match.

It is easy when you are not a native English speaker and you say the colour in your native language.

At the last round, by the time I say Blue and Black the whole round ends, impossible.

When I say it out loud I can't beat round 4, but when I say it in my head I could beat it

If look at it from your peripheral vision this becomes easy

I think there is a little strategy, you can controllably unfocus on the word and all you need to worry about is read the color of the blurry word out loud!

Round 1 - "It's too slow and too easy" Round 2 - "This is just about the right speed" Round 3 - "This is fast but I can handle the challenge" Round 4 - "Oh yeah, I'm 56 years old and went to one too many Van Halen concerts"

Well you could have used squares of colors on the last one and I can't process the words out my mouth that fast.
