Apologies for the map at 0:45 - this map does not reflect the views of the channel, and I am sorry for allowing it to make it into a final video.

Not being able to eat glistening melons is ridiculous

Goats, Camels (in Middle eastern regions) and Squid are literally normal delicacy. Why refuse to eat them?

I'm still mad that they removed goats dropping mutton (yes that was actually a thing in a few Bedrock betas) like it's not some taboo thing, people eat goat in plenty of places around the world but I guess Mojang has some rule in place after 1.12/1.13 that real animals can no longer drop anything useful on death, even if it's at the cost of the survival aspect if you, say, spawn in a mountain and all you have nearby are goats (I remember this happening to me once)

Oh and also I wish you could eat glistering melons, why do apples and carrots become some of the best foods in the game when combined with gold while melons straight up become inedible when you do the same with them?

Being able to eat berries is bad, they're saying that I can go into any forest and eat random berries.

Petition for Mojang to add Bat Soup with a 5% chance of catching a mysterious flu when eaten.

Minecraft should have goat meat. I grew up raising goats and we sure as hell used em for meat. Actually we used them for milk too so they should also be milkable in Minecraft

I think they should add different crops to the game that grow in different biomes. That way, it would change the early game depending on what biome you start in. Maybe grass in swamp biomes drops rice instead of wheat! Maybe cactus is a viable food source!

You should be able to milk camels. It doesn't hurt them and iirc, people actually use camel milk, so even if it was just standard milk, I think it would cool

Horse meat is super common as a delicacy in nomadic cultures that live in the steppe like in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and some parts of Russia and Mongolia. They’re typically separately bred from horses that are ridden and are preserved and simultaneously flavored using salt in dishes like Qazy and also used as a substitute for lamb or beef in other foods like Pilaf or Beshbarmak.

Camels specially should be edible in game as they're eaten in the places they're most common. They're also milked and their wool is used. Would be kind of OP I guess.

Goats should just drop mutton and call it a day.

Fun fact: the Polar Bear, Dolphin, Guardian and Elder Guardian all drop cod and salmon.

I think every animal should be Eaten in Minecraft because it is a survival game after all.

Now I get it Mojang clearly hates chickens! They want us to kill them instead of keeping them alive and eating their eggs. It all makes sense now.

Honestly having biome diversity in food accessibility would be cool. Cause you can find cows, sheep, pigs, and chuckens anywhere there is grass and light. Which yeah I see cause how can you get some of their materials. But I also think vegetables and fruits should also be a more common place to spawn. Like wild potatoes or carrots. Like how we find patches of pumpkins, I think we should be able to find a wild variant of the veggies and also maybe fruits if they ever consider to plan and expand on that. But have it to where if you have players living in one place, they have access to a whole different variety of foods, veggies fruits and meats, compared to someone living somewhere else. And if they meet, they could then trade and commerce with the foods. And also it would give a beter incentive to go out to get what you want instead of the nearest patch of grass and wait for a cow or pig to spawn. And perhaps have it where certain biomes affect how certain plants grow, having some grow faster in other biomes than others. Or you can use a corresponding block that helps them grow normally, but not as fast in their native biome.
I still think fruit trees like apple trees and a few other crop trees would be amazing to have. I know its classic to get an apple from an oak tree, but in real life, you do not want to eat an oak apple. And its not so much wanting to be realistic but friendly, if you wish to show people that hey, yes people can and have eaten this thing. But it's up to you to choose to do so. If it's not your thing to eat, dont have to, find something else that you'd prefer.

It's also a hectic topic as there's many opinions out there. I know mine won't appeal to some, but im curious on what others will think. What else could be added? Does every food need an exact purpose? Or can it just simply be a cool or unique food item?

Wait until the Minecraft developers hear that humans are apex predators, and that we literally eat everything

Mojang would remove meat from the game entirely if it wouldn't piss of the entire community.

Frog legs should be an alternative ingredient in jump boost potions. And animals should drop better food based on how well they were treated.

Someone should make a datapack to make mob drops useful, like you can make a farm to get goat muttons, squid tentacles, striders legs, roasted parrots, frog legs, etc... And you can also obtain fur coats from animals to make fur armor.
