In this video, we’re going to discuss what you should do if you find yourself with zero appetite while doing keto and intermittent fasting.

Food has two purposes, to provide the body with fuel and with nutrients. If you are nutritionally deficient, which most people are, you may have problems going longer than a day without food. Low blood pressure and fainting episodes are common in people who go too long without eating.

Most people need to eat once a day, even if they have no appetite. If weight loss is not your goal, you should consume 2 meals per day, also if you don’t have an appetite.

You don’t have to consume a large meal if you have no appetite. Try consuming a small salad with a small amount of protein and fat.

Your stomach will shrink when you’re doing intermittent fasting. Your requirement for food will be less, so you won't need as many calories. You won’t even need the same amount of nutrients in some cases. This may cause your appetite to decrease.

In the morning if you have no appetite, don’t eat! Go as long as you can, but try to eat at least once per day to ensure your body gets enough nutrients.

Yep I am at that point zero appetite. I do have mental cravings, but I am not hungry.

i have no appetite it’s the weirdest thing. i’ve always loved food and had a huge appetite, but something happened literally overnight and i’m just never hungry or full anymore i wish i could just go back to when i was normal

This is me!.. I joked about it to my homegirl.. I said I've done fasted my appetite away..I had no idea when I started fasting for heath I would loose my long suffering relation with food. Best thing I could have done for my life! Thank you for this information I thought there was something wrong with me.

I am doing 20/4 IF and at some point I feel like I can eat everything but as soon as I see it on the plate I take 2 bits and I’m done 😩 I’m forcing my self. Thank you Dr I will have to force my self to eat more ! One week and I already lost 6kg (13lbs) 💪🏾

I started keto on the 25th of March. Exactly one week later I hear about IF on your channel and I loved the idea. I went instantly from eating 3 -4 times a day (including snacks) to twice a day (2pm and 10pm). Now a week later I feel like the 10pm meal seems redundant. I weighed 106kg at start now 98kg and my pot belly has gone down A LOT. I have you to thank for explaining ecerything in such detail. I am also doing magnesium, potassium, and apple cider vinegar among other things daily to keep those in check.

Still have occational bloating / plug issues with heavy salads but Im working on the doses.

Never felt better!!!

I started ketosis and intermittent fasting last May and have never been hungry in all that time, i eat bacon and eggs at 1pm then a large salad at 5pm with a little protein and fats and that’s it till the next day, I have stuck to this routine ever since I started and have steadily lost weight ever since I began. The strange thing is I never get bored with these two meals, I still think they are fantastic.

It's almost scary how very little of an appetite I have. As a person who has had reoccurring binge eating episodes, the past week on Keto has been shocking. I'm still going through headaches and nausea, but my appetite is gone. I have no a want for eating. So far I've been eating once a day only because I know that I should eat something. I think I am going to incorporate some type of small berry or fruit into my daily snack. I'm at this point where the thought of food makes me sick to my stomach. The only thing I want is a string cheese sometimes. I wish I didn't have to eat to survive, it seems like such a chore now.

I definitely argue your points. I’ve had zero appetite for over a year. I’m working over 50 hours a week, sleeping 10+ hours a day, and literally don’t feel hunger. Literally 4 chicken nuggets in one sitting makes me feel like I’ve eaten a 12 course meal. I gag/throw up if I force myself to eat.

So, by not even feeling hungry, do I just not eat, or do I force myself to eat something, knowing I’ll be sick?

Unless you want to be a weakling eat and start exercising, whether its calisthenics, going up hill or lifting. I've had to claw back lost strength needed for work because my deficit has been too high without even noticing, I'm barely ever hungry on keto and IM. Before I could maintain a lot of muscle without effort, now I've got to monitor whether I'm eating enough rather than too much which I never thought would happen.
