Prana - Day 2

Показать описание
This is a mental health wellness practice. Full stop. So, while we utilize familiar asana, allow yourself to focus on sensation more than what you think the poses should look like. This might be particularly challenging not to the beginner but to an experienced yogi who perhaps has been practicing asana in the Western world for many years. Remember, the focus on this series is on the prana body. The energetic aspects that help make up who we are. Have you ever met someone that just had “good energy” or have you ever been around someone who had “bad energy” maybe? I am not here to call one thing good or bad but simply to point out that we often respond to energy because it can affect how we feel. From the yoga perspective we are all all connected through this life force, and so tending to our own energy through practice does inevitably have a ripple effect.

This mindful practice is 23 minutes long and packed with beneficial moves for the spine, a strong, stable center, healthy digestion, and yummy support for the hamstrings and lower back.

I hope you enjoy your time on the mat. Thank you for showing up!

Love,
Adriene

Can i brag on myself a little? Today i have officially done YWA for a whole year without missing one day. When i started, even sitting cross legged or laying on the floor was agony, and most of the moves triggered an asthma attack. I decided to power through anyway and now, while still not graceful by any means, i can do most of the moves pain free and asthma free! 🎉🎉
Edit: thanks for the support! I feel the community and I come back to these comments on days I feel like giving up! ❤ (still haven't skipped a day!)

Never, ever have I finished a yoga practice and thought, "Well that was a waste of time." Showing up is the gift that keeps on giving!

Unlike most everyone here, I came to the mat sad and frankly devastated today. I’m losing someone I’ve spent half a decade loving, and it’s not what I want. I received some new news just before practice and honestly, I couldn’t see straight during due to tears flowing. I ended practice still feeling just as sad, but I am proud of myself for showing up for me. I know I’ve been neglected in my past relationship, and I have to learn how to pick up the pieces and show myself the love I haven’t been getting.

I’m from San Francisco but live in Pennsylvania. I’m truly loving the first 2 Prana sessions. This year I turn 75 and want to remain flexible, centered and balanced with great posture. These are my strong wishes! I adore you, Adriene😊

i decided to do dry january this year, and ive noticed a huge source of comfort to me throughout the day when i am having difficulty with cravings is the thought that i get to come to the mat, sober, and spend quality time with my body. thank you, adriene, for making this scary and solitary journey so much more bearable and rewarding by guiding me through self-exploration every day as i try to rediscover dormant parts of my consciousness again! it's such a validating gift to be able to come to the mat and feel this two-fold accomplishment and pride, and to be guided to relearn genuine self-soothing and self-care practices with you!

I’m a couple of days late to completing this - for me this is a win. As a recovering perfectionist, the fact that I can now be human and fall of the wagon (or miss the first one completely) and hop back on glad to be back rather than riddled with guilt is a win!! Best wishes everyone, hope you have beautiful days x

thank you for this prana practice adriene. i’ve been feeling a bit down lately, but just these two days has provided some much needed space to feel better about myself. im ten months post chemotherapy, still in remission, and finally starting school again next week to finish my degree. i’ve come so far from where i was a year ago and that truly is something to celebrate. i’ll see you tomorrow 🫶🏻

Just a huge thank you for you being you. I'm a bigger dude with limitations, I struggle with my knees and my large tummy inhibits some of my movements but I try and do what I can as I follow along. I've heard you say do what you can and what feels right. I figured I won't be able to do the moves, so I was hesitant to start again but hearing the words on day 1, take your time, and hearing you say, if you're holding onto something, put it aside, I've realized this is the movement I've been looking for. There has been more than one occasion where as I rest, through movement, I'm able to release and that includes tears. I want to continue this as a daily practice and I'm going to continue to show up for myself.

I worked for 8 hours on my feet at a local food bank and then came home to walk the dog. At dinner I told my husband that I was going upstairs to do Prana Day 2 and he said "How can you do that when you are so tired?" AND that is exactly why I love to work it with you all in the YWA way. Prana Day 2 gave me as much as i gave it. Thank you, Adriene!

Going through a lot right now but couldn't help but giggle whilst shaking around on the floor at the end, I felt like a bug trying to get back on its feet! 🤣 thanks for inspiring us to have fun and find joy Adriene ✨

This new format is amazing! I think I can commit to a 7 Days journey. 30 days were too much, I failed all the time. And this is so empowering <3

Thank you so much for this practice, and all the practices. After almost 5 years of practicing every day with you
(started at 17yrs!) I got my 200hr diploma in vinyasa last summer and started teaching! I realise now just how much you've impacted me. I use so much of what I've learned from you in my teaching and every time I feel so so grateful❤ I'm spreading a bit of your magic in Athens, Greece.
Thank you, thank you, thank you,
Ellie
