For some reason Ineos try to ride like they did when they were winning but now it's to protect a top 10 finish. Until they have a GC contender they need to concentrate on stages. or a minor jersey.

Basically Froome and Bernal's crashes doomed the team. G is a good rider, but old. Bernal was meant to be the teams future, but since his crash he hasn't really come back to form - which is fair enough considering his injuries!

0:44 Ride of the Century? Although a brilliant show of tactics and strength by Faulkner this year, I remember a certain Anna Kiesenhofer holding off the entire women's peloton from kilometer zero at the Tokyo Olympics three years ago.

I enjoy the La Fem races. The dynamic inside the peloton is different and the races are shorter which means i have a higher likelihood of watching it completely from start to finish.

Ineos' policy and tactics are as incomprehensible as a British political party platform. Bernal is sadly just a super domestique at best, Pidcock is neither a GC rider nor a team player, Thomas had some fine end-of-career years and can now retire, and Rodriguez is simply not the beastly talent that Tadej/Jonas/Remco are

Oddly enough, I like the riders (as people) much more now than earlier years and during Sky years. I think expectations should just be readjusted given the types of riders they have which are more stage hunters than GC.

Glad to see Average Rob popping up here. His videos are some of the most entertaining around.

Geraint Thomas was not slower or weaker in the last couple years compared to his TdF winning years. His age is not the reason he can't win, it's the fact that the top riders of 2021 - 2024 are stronger than him. His power numbers are still some of the best in the world - Tadej and Jonas (and Remco) are just stronger.

Man, that lack of radios makes for some *amazing* racing! More of those, please!

Can't wait to see a Yates vs Yates next year when UAE and Visma are challenging each other

Faulkner was incredible! She was faster than the vast majority of men in the final kilometers and faster than remco on a segment or two when both were going all out. She was beasting it. She knew her opponents and had the best legs that day. Brilliant!

Just read that brilliant quote from Pidcock “Cummings absence from the Tour would have a negligible effect” unfortunately it meant Team Ineos had a negligible effect, with or without Pidcock. Careful what you wish for.

Why are Ineos bad? No leadership, no GC leader to rally around, no clear focus (i.e. GC or classics), team is a mish mash of different styles. They need to decide what they want to be first.

Given what riders Ineos does NOT have, I don't see their fortunes changing quickly. But they also are not developing riders like I would expect. I'm not sure if they actually want Pidcock to be in random mountain bike races throughout the year rather than trying to win UCI road races or if they just can't tell Pidcock what his job is. But, that's an example.

Ineos are 6th in the world tour rankings, so not a disaster yet but definitely underperforming given their budget.

I listen to Bernal's weekly podcast (Cyclast, in spanish), and two months ago his mindset was going to the tour to support Rodriguez, and as preparation for La Vuelta (he would like to win it, so he can say he won all grand tours). But then, we all saw how he faded away as the Tour progressed this year, and then straight after he finished it, he announced that it was unlikely he would take part in La Vuelta, and that he needed to sit down with his coach and develop new training plans. Huh ?? I think he's realised that he just can't match the best of the post-covid cycling era. All the talk is about enjoying his rides, the bike, how precious life is... which is understandable after doctors told him that there was a 75% chance he would not walk again when he had his accident, BUT... that doesn't help the team much, Ineos aren't going to pat him on his back and go ohhh well... let's just keep training and see if you get another top 3 on a week long race next year.... they need big results, and they won't come from Egan.
Just saw news that Ethan Hayter is leaving the team as well... the ship is sinking and it's every man for himself.

Ineos issues-
1 - badly run (see G Thomas recent comments about weak decision making)
2 - bikes no good (see Dan Bighams frustrations)
3 - Pidcock not a team player (see Netflix)
4 - physical preparation of riders not good enough - riders are not in the mix at the sharp end
5 - in car direction not good
6 - tDF objective was stage wins like a 1980s French team
They miss Brailsfords focus.
