As a smoker this gave me both hope and anxiety at the same time

Oh wow. This became a discussion. Nice.

As someone who has never smoked, I see this as an absolute win

My dad quit smoking when he found out my mother was pregnant with me, hasn’t gone back. I’m incredibly proud of him, and hope everyone out there struggling with addiction can find the motivation and strength to recover. Good luck y’all 💛

It's easier said than done. An addicted person will have a very difficult time, discipline, and insane motivation to completely stop.

I quit nicotine all together about 4 months ago and I’ve never felt better! I’m only 28, and I picked up smoking at around 15-16, so watching videos like this gives me hope that one day my lungs will be back to normal but also terrify me because of what I’ve done to my body and the consequences…
Anyone on their quitting journey, you got this!! Stop counting the days, that was helped a lot ❤

Since we do not know all toxins in smoke and how to get rid of the known heavy metals, it is better not to start smoking at all.

a psa to everyone saying “if i can do it so can you”, “it’s easy to quit” and/or “it’s not that’s hard.”:

every person is different, every substance is different, every person who does drugs have different side effects. withdrawals and constant need for substance(s) in a persons body can make them go insane. some people hurt themselves, or others. addiction is a scary thing to go through, and i advise that if you’re struggling with any kind of addiction, to seek help. you don’t have to go through it alone. yes, some people will leave, but there’s others that stay. those other people that stay care, and they want to help you. recovery is a long, hard, painful journey, but you can do it. you’re not alone in this, no matter how alone you might feel, remember that there is always going to be people who love and care.

you can do this, stay strong.

So proud of my mom who at 61 years old quit smoking 5 years ago, after having smoked since she was 12 years old! She's incredible and I'm as proud as I am relieved! To anyone out there battling this but wanting top quit, you CAN do it! 🙏

I feel so much better when I don’t smoke- made it a year last time- I don’t know why I let myself relapse. I’ve got to try again.

My dad quit smoking almost a decade ago after losing 2 of his brothers and a sister to smoking in a relatively short time.

It was a major wakeup call for him and he's a lot healthier now.

It's amazing that all you have to do is quit and the body handles it from there

As someone who literally started smoking to look cool Infront of friends at school, I'm proud to say I'm now just over a year without a cigarette after smoking for more than half my life.. I'm 30 now.

Dad passed away after a lung transplant where the body refused the new lung. His passing prompted me to give up...

I did it for me but I did it for you too Dad!
