#intermittentfasting #fasting #OMAD In this video, I give my best tips for walking 6 miles a day consistently. I've been hitting this step goal consistently since the beginning of 2016, and I think it was crucially important to my weight loss success.

I have started a "dot" system with green, yellow and red dots that has really helped me with consistency. My action goals are staying in my fasting window, drinking my water, taking my vitamins, doing 60 minutes of exercise each day and keeping track of what I did in my journal. If a do all of the above, I get a green dot, if I do some, but not all of those things, I get a yellow dot, and if I don't do anything at all, I get a red dot. I really see results on the scale when I get a string of green dots going! It's amazing how getting that green dot drives me to get up and do what I'm supposed to be doing - it's like getting paid for my efforts. I now LOOK for ways to get everything done instead of making excuses for not doing them.

Kayla Cox, thank you for opening up the comments. I have been wanting to tell you that you have the best videos on YouTube regarding weight lost. I love reading them because I have learned so much. You make it sensible, smart and actually fun, and it works, God Bless

Thank you for this video! I’ve recently decided I should do more walking. Before, I thought it was not important, but I gained back some weight even though I continued intermittent fasting. Just today, I came back from vacation and was pleased to see I haven’t gained any weight (maybe even lost some, I’ll see in the morning). I was pretty loose with my eating, but we walked a lot! There was no single day with less than 15 thousand steps. Walking must be really important.

Curious - what did you learn about shoes, how fast do you go through them? Your story and content continue to keep me focused, thank you.

I try to do 20, 000 steps but Sunday it’s harder, it’s harder when it’s hot outside so I start early morning. I have 3 bird dogs that need walking! That keeps me motivated! I do say Kayla does 14, 000 steps and that’s good on Sunday!

Thank you for this. Getting in my daily steps is now less a priority but an absolute habit my family finds obnoxious. I park in the back of the lot. I walk around in a blaze orange vest in the dark. I prioritize decent shoes over style. And, the desire to walk keeps me away from the food that kept me fat. My apartment isn't big enough for walking, but I save tons of time not waiting for the bus. It's not hard to walk if you can get your mind to change. The rewards exceed weight loss, and it's never a waste of time. My neighbor planted hedges of purple flowers yesterday, and I saw them about 9pm last night. Well worth the walk!

I needed this push. Had been doing 10k steps in my house during covid and omad and was seeing success. I got sidetracked with election and been absorbed with audits but want to get back in track with putting my health first.

Thank you so much for your videos. Thank you for being so down to earth & relatable.
Last week after watching your videos I started walking indoors 5 minutes.
This week I started walking 20 minutes a day.
I'm also doing intermittent fasting 20 hours a day.
I'm just going to gradually add more minutes each week.
I wish I had found your videos 1st. I made it too hard on myself & quit. I started back this month on May 2nd.
I'm 63. I'm wondering if weight loss will be slower.

That’s awesome. I started doing 3.5. Then bumped up to 4 then 5. Each am. Then I figured what if I added another 2.5 in the evening? So I tried it. These days 7.5-8.0 have become routine. Now, it takes a shit ton of time. And it took a long time to get results. Basically 5 miles a day times 7 days equals 3500’calories which is 1lb of fat. So keeping with it takes dedication. I walked for like months before anyone noticed much of anything. About 6 months in now. Never weighed myself but I’ve been told I’ve lost at least 15lbs

Dumb question, but is it plausible to do 3 miles in the morning and 3 in the evening? I can't go that far now (36 weeks pregnant) but when I'm able to walk comfortably with a stroller, I'd love to start walking consistently and biking some like I used to.

I do a paper round & on the weekends I can accumulate around 11, 700 steps doing this per day. In the weekdays is around the 5600 for the rest of the day I make up for it.
