I coached x pro gamer Nocturnoz to improve his aim by fixing one of his major issues in his aim, which was the tension in his grip. To do this I pulled on some old tricks and helped a lot. He saw massive improvements during and after the session.

Without ever watching anyone's aim trainer or aim coaching sessions, I've just known that you're supposed to hold it as relaxed as possible. before and during games i have a little habit that I've started forming where I do a grip check to make sure there I am able to use exclusively my fingers and not my arm or my wrist to be able to move my mouse up down left right and in clockwise and counterclockwise circles while maintaining as little pressure as possible on it I try to make the circles go from really big to really small and once they're really really small I do a couple of tight circles and then switch from counterclockwise to clockwise or clockwise to counterclockwise and it really makes a big difference

Ty for this gem of information! I also noticed that especially in high tension scenarios i tend to contract all my hand muscles and my aim become much more shaky.
Now i know why, thank you!

the egg technique is also in athletics! this helped me as a long distance runner. When your hand tenses up your whole body tends to do the same so if you want to be relaxed it starts in the hands. Usian Bolt has also used this method!

I think this might be a big part of my aim issues and why my micro adjustments are bad thank you :)

I also find myself gripping the mouse really hard, especially when it's not a really good day for aiming and I keep losing my 1v1s etc so my aim gets progressively worse the harder I grip it. I read somewhere on reddit that to relax your grip, you should pick your mouse up with the least amount of strength needed to pick it up and then place it back on the mousepad and use that same amount of strength to grip it. Do it everytime you feel you're gripping your mouse too hard. It has helped me quite a bit.

the key is to relax the most (perfect: desk height + monitor height + arm resting + NO TENSION helps a LOT) - this is what I think about aiming, but anyways, even with all this wrong, the more you train, the more you have that muscle memory, so, any setup works). But in order to relax, you have to relax your mind first. Playing while anxious or fearful or while you are thinking about other things, is going to make you more tense and to mess up a lot your aiming and focus in the game). DON'T PLAY WHILE YOU ARE FEELING BAD, THIS IS GOING TO MAKE YOU PLAY WORSE (at least for me xD)

I switched my primary fire button from left click over to the shift key on the keyboard. It works fine since I use full auto weapons on the finals. If you use a click toggle on right mouse button for ads, then there is no pressing down on mouse while aiming. This helps to keep the tension at zero. It works but it takes time to get used to keeping your aim steady without the tension.

this is a huge problem for me when aiming. and it feels impossible to break the habit. for me personally i always instinctively start gripping my mouse harder when i focus but the problem is i dont notice im doing that until i stop aiming

I get the concept. I used to use a G303 shroud edition as my main mouse and I had an aggressive claw grip. I could never make micro adjustments well in game. When I switched over to a GPX2, my grip style changed to a relaxed claw grip and now I can make micro adjustments and also can track way better than with the g303

For me, getting the grip tape helped me from having to grip so hard on a smooth plastic mouse. I recommend looking for one compatible with your mouse if it is just smooth plastic on the sides.

This was me some time ago as a former g502 user. Luckily I found your content and similar and learned to be relaxed and smooth

One thing I found out personally was body temperature in general affects mine and my friends aim significantly. Mainly cause if our we are cold our muscles tense to try to stay warm and if too hot we fatigue too quickly, that being said generally keeping my hands on the warmer side allow my muscles to relax easier and in turn make my aim feel smoother, something like desk heaters or even a beanbag can make your aim more consistent but not better imo also nice video I'll so hyped to try the new advices you've given in the video😂

So the egg thing, similar to my dad teaching me golf, grip the club like it's a baby bird you're trying to keep warm without crushing.

Looking forward to apply these tricks next time I play. I’ve improved my aiming mechanics gradually over the last 3 years but I have plateaued recently and can’t seem to reach that professional level.

a big thing that fixed my aim was to stop pressing my mouse so hard against the mouse pad.. I had a light grip and never death gripped my mouse but that tension against the pad still ruined my aim.. It's crazy how the smallest shit can affect ur aim so much
