Why do #narcissists take EVERYTHING so personal?

If you are not praising a narcissist, you are criticizing them. Everything is a personal attack unless it's positive in some way.

Welcome my channel! If this is your first time seeing my face or hearing my voice, my name is Lee and I am a self aware narcissist. I have narcissistic personality disorder ( NPD ) and I've been in therapy for my personality disorder since 2017 and it has definitely changed my life because without it, I would have lost everything.

The point of these videos is to help bring awareness from the other side of the narcissistic *buse spectrum. All my videos give perspective on why many narcissists do what they do and the possible different reasons behind them. The victims and survivors get validation and the Narcissists (those that are willing) get to see that you can get help and that you are not alone.

This is so accurate. My ex read ALL of his texts with an angry voice. Even my texts that were not written in anger. I always thought it was weird

Literally, to an ABSOLUTE "T" just went through this and he hung up the phone on me Feb 16th and we haven't talked since then. I'm a huge communicator and it seems like no matter how I address the ISSUE, be it respectfully or monotone or whatever, he ALWAYS blows up on me. Telling me how he doesn't want to hear it, don't start, how I ruin his day, it's always him and never me etc etc.

A person respectfully telling you how they feel is NOT grounds for a blow up. Period. Instead of listening with an ear of defense and negativity, listen with an ear of compassion and that your partner is telling you what's bothering them.

I have tried and tried and tried to have NORMAL conversations but I can't worth the disrespectful attitude and hanging up in my face. I've mentioned how rude that was and this last time was it for me. Screaming at me and barking orders at me like I'm a dog to get off they phone, they didn't even give me a chance to let them go, so they hung up. I can't anymore. I truly love this person and would give anything for them but when you sit back and see how you were the only one trying. When the communication did, I would bring it up respectfully, and it gets blown out of proportion. I always say mid conversation "I'm not arguing with you I'm just telling you how I feel or what I need", it goes to 100.

They never care about how nasty and mean they can be because they always bring it back to YOU!!!

I find that even when they're in a negative mood saying something positive can warrant rage and a feeling of disrespect from them. Its like why are you trynna be positive when i wanna be negative right now lol comical and funny exhausting

Their infantile minds respond according to their maturity. Bad Parenting, neglect, emotional abuse etc. There is always a choice to learn a new ability. Leave them if your not happy. Peace To All.

The narc husband got mad bc my 14 year old didn't want to eat the dinner that he cooked bc she says he doesn't ever wash his hands and always coughs on everything. She wasn't rude to him about it nor even said why Just didn't want to eat it. So he wouldn't let it go . He was very offended that her and my 8 yr old didn't want to eat it bc she just doesn't like hamburger helper. We were alone and he just kept on that he knows that they didn't want to eat it bc he cooked it. ( especially the focus was on the 14 yr old.) He called her petty and said she needed to grow up that she had a mind of a 8 yr old. What do yall think about this?
