Is BREAKING UP with my partner the RIGHT decision? How do you know if you should end a relationship?

How do you know if you should break up with someone? Is breaking up with my partner the right decision? How do you know if you should end a relationship? These are questions that doesn't exactly have a right or wrong answer. However, there are certainly questions you can ask yourself to help you decide what the most loving choice for you is. In this video, I discuss how to know if you should break up or stay together, and how to know if you should dump him or her. Deciding to break up with someone is rarely an easy decision to make, however, this video might give you some clarity on what is best for you.

I'm Ash Nord, your truth-bombing fairy godmother for everything love, dating and relationships. I have a psychological focus (I'm a psychology student) and a genuine passion for understanding how humans relate to and connect with one another. My ex was loyal and honest, and so was I. But we rarely saw each other, rarely spoke anymore, had significantly different personalities, and we were barely physically intimate anymore. We were also on very different pages in our life. As much as I value loyalty and honesty (and think it's hard to find) it's not always enough to make a relationship last if the two people are incompatible. That type of thinking can also lead to you settling with someone because you don't think you'll ever find anyone capable of honesty/loyalty again. That was my fear and why I stayed for years longer than I should have

I ended my relationship with my ex and after a few months of therapy, changing careers, lots of reading, I realized how incredibly unhappy I was with myself (not the relationship) and how much childhood trauma I had to process. I regret it immensely and am now working to reconcile but like you said, It’s really difficult. Talk to your partner first, everyone. Talk, talk, talk and be open about everything.

this video is a wake-up call for me. i cannot go my entire life searching for that one person who checks all the boxes. i am accepting that my partner and i can have differences as long as we respect each other's differences. there is a REASON why he chose me and i know there is a reason why i chose him. no one has ever made me feel so safe

I've spent a lot of time processing my recent break-up. I'm starting to get a clearer picture of the various reasons why it was necessary. Your video helped me realize that, on top of my emotional needs not being met, even after having addressed this issue at length, I also do not have the time, energy, or desire to invest in improving the relationship, considering the other challenges I am facing. Thanks.

Thank you so much for this video. I've been struggling about possibly breaking up with my long term boyfriend because I've been starting to fall for someone else. But after hearing your 80/20 rule it makes so much since now why I like this other person. I'm gonna work through this rough patch with my boyfriend and start to see the 80 percent of him that I've been blind to

I'm a guy watching this and truly I say, how often gem of an advice is found on Youtube with not high subscriber count. It sound like backhanded compliment but I mean it genuinely. It is usually those people with profound wisdom to share that is not mainstream with triple digit K subscriber. Thank you for this amazing insight. Much love.

Edit : your fiance which I assume is your husband now is truly a lucky man to have a woman that is as mature and wise like you. I'm sure your guys relationship will stand the test of time.

I used to be in a relationship which was perfect for both of us... but I felt like he wasn't as I would like him to be and that his feelings were much stronger than mine... now I see that my low self-esteem and my low self-awareness definetly influenced the way that I viewed our relationship and myself in it. I don't know if I regret leaving him... but I'm sure that I have a lot of inner work to do.

I am thinking of ending a new relationship 🥺 I don't feel valued or appreciated. He gives too many hot/cold signals. Speaks of marrying me and professes his love for me daily but never plans dates, sends flowers or actually shows he wants a future with me. I think he's trying to fill the void of his ex. Taylor sang it best _"You know, when it's time to go"_

Watched this after I broke up with a man who there is nothing wrong with. Did I make the wrong decision? The only missing piece was attraction.

Thank you Ashley. This video cannot help me anymore because I know... I finally know after 2 months that I made a right decision when I found out that the perfect relationship (I saw it as a perfect relationship) was far from perfect, honest and loyal. Your videos helped a lot but at the end I did confront my ex and while some part of me was a bit feeling guilty from walking away I realised that it saved me from a horrible to be marriage in the future. She at the end put all the blame at me, told me I was toxic, but when I realised the things she did behind my back I knew I was saved and escaped a giant bullet. Your videos helped too...gonna stay subbed to your channel anyway because your content is worth watching even when I do not need it anymore....

Maybe it's just me but all I hear is "nice guys are hard to find so try to make it work" :(

I’ve recently split with a woman I absolutely adored. I didn’t end the relationship, but I just didn’t see it coming. The next day, she returned all of my stuff and haven’t heard from her since. I’m beside myself and feel like making contact. Now I really do feel like I meant absolutely nothing to her. It’s the no recognition and not really knowing that is draining me.

I love a man, who is loyal and honest. He is a good family member as well.
I’m considering leaving.
He is 25 years older than me and has three kids (two grownups and one 5 year old).
Also to live together with him I’d have to move to a place which is very far from my workplace. I can’t really imagine doing that, because I work so much that spending more time on travelling can ruin my life.
I’m also not that much into kids and his son is 50% of the time there, which would be a lot for me, although we have a good relationship.
I feel so uneasy, because if there wouldn’t be age difference and his children, I would never consider leaving. He’s a great person. It’s just that the circumstances make us incompatible, because ALL the compromises will be from MY side.
I mean, for me this would mean compromising a possibility of having a normal family in the future. And I do feel strange with a small child and a partner so much older, although I love him.
If anyone has good advice, you’re welcome to give it.
💜

It's a difficult spot to be in. Unsure if I could heal with them after the first few months when I'm still second guessing and confused after a breakup. But I made the choice, i don't truly know why, just a loud scream in the back of my head that came out after weeks of panic attacks. It's been a rough road of regretful thinning, nostalgia, and tears. Maybe I'll figure out the answer eventually, just not sure yet

I just came across your profile and oh my goodness girl you speak to my soul! Every video is so well put and so relatable. You give the best advice in a way that people can apply it to their life. Most other videos I’ve found on the same topics you cover are very bland and straight from a textbook. Please come back to aus cause girl I need you in my life!
