I came up from 140 pounds to 170 by bulking and strength training. My goal is to get to 200 lean. Bulking has been effective for me and my goals and I’m stronger than I would have been without bulking.

🚨 Stop force feeding yourself if you want to build muscle! 🚨

A caloric surplus is not what drives muscle growth!

Gaining weight should not be your goal. Getting stronger at your lifts should be your goal. As long as you eat enough protein and recover from your training, you will build muscle.

Yes, lots of people that ‘bulk’ put on muscle, but they also gain a lot of fat. That doesn’t mean that they couldn’t have gained that same amount of muscle without gaining a lot of fat.

If you’ve been lifting for a while, you’d be lucky to put on 5kg of muscle in a YEAR. That’s less than 14 grams per day! Eating more than 250 calories above your maintenance is unnecessary and will only lead to gaining fat!

Gaining muscle takes a lot time, so don’t be fooled into thinking you can speed up the process by eating a lot more food than you need.
