I agree with you on the ADHD and Autism connection. I look at my ADHD as simply being a type of presentation of my autistic brain type. I see ADHD as being part of Autism and some people may not present with the ADHD traits, but too many do for it not to be one and the same. Also, when I look at creators who are just ADHD they all have way too many of the autistic traits also. My neuropsychologist thinks it is only a few more years till ADHD will be seen as part of Autism or autistic traits.

See I have no diagnosis of either of the two but have been told by many people they think I have autism. I can 100% agree here. Like I will have things I really wanna focus on and get done something which really interests me and then the other half of my brain will say no and I will literally do everything else but that and eventually just sit there rocking 🤦🏼‍♀️

I am 33. My psychologist helped me discover that I had ADHD last year. I didn’t know anything about it at the time. And now he thinks I also have autism. I’ve been listening to a lot about it... I felt like an imposter with this diagnosis. But yes... I must admit that I am definitely both. Multi-passionate. Switching. Struggling.
My dad and my brother are autistic for sure. But as a woman, i am not exactly like them. I study secret symboles and stuff about humanity… trying to understand…
I am a good actress also.
But around 30 i couldnt handle Life anymore.
What a relief to understand this :)

I find it funny how you were out of focus while talking about hyperfocus, hehe. I was just dxed at 29 with ADHD but I also have BPD, CPTSD, bipolar 2, adjustment disorder, anxiety, and depression in my record lol. I don't actually know what is up anymore and I've been on so many meds, I just don't trust the field of psychology much anymore despite getting a degree in it and it being my main interest. My mom says I'm fine and just brings up that I had high APGAR scores, was in the gifted & talented program in elementary school, and was reading/writing extremely early so I'm perfectly fine. She also has a second Master's in learning disabilities, but I don't really believe her because she lives vicariously through me and anything negative said about me is a direct reflection on her. Any dxs given by a doctor as a child would have been written off because I'm smart and can just get over it. It almost feels like a watered-down Gypsy Rose situation sometimes. Highly invalidating whatever the case. ; _;

Synchronicity, I recently thought to the same thing, that ADHD & Autism could be 2 sides of the same thing.
By analogy with the cognitives functions : like introverted intuition & extroverted intuition are 2 sides of the same function Intuition.

Do a video about this topic please.

I’m diagnosed with ADHD since I’m 9 (currently 24, severe ADHD), and for years I think I might be on the autism spectrum. I recently started to dig more into that and to spot where it’s probably autism that makes me act this or that way. Anyway, I’m waiting to see a doctor to get an official diagnosis.

There are some pretty strong stats that support your opinion, I can't remember exact percentages, but the occurrence of both is pretty high. It's somewhere around 60% of people with autism also have ADHD, and something like 40+% of people with ADHD also have Autism. Not sure why the stats are different when you switch the initial diagnosis, I feel like they probably just could've come up with an all around co-occurrence percentage, but I didn't do the study, lol.

When my boys were being diagnosed again by another Dr, I had brought my mother. While they asked questions, my mother would say I did those things as a child. I finally asked my Dr, and she said, "You have adhd. You can have ADHD and not Autism. But, you can't have autism without ADHD."

Wow. I'm 50 and definitely neurodivergent/ASD though undiagnosed. My son was diagnosed with ADHD when he was young. After watching this video I got curious and took an online ADD quiz and scored 50 out of 58.
