Most of us struggle to eat enough protein. And we often think we’re getting more protein than we actually are.

Protein is key when it comes to both building muscle and losing fat.

Here is what approximately 130g of Protein looks like:

6 oz (170g) chicken breast = 39g of protein
3 eggs = 18g of protein
1 scoop protein powder = 23g of protein
6 oz (170g) shrimp = 23g of protein
3/4 cup (105g) edamame = 10g of protein
1 Greek yogurt = 20g of protein

Depending on the brand and type of protein powder or greek yogurt you pick the protein content will vary!

I think it’s hard for people to get enough because it’s so expensive. I mainly rely on eggs and beans because meat is almost a luxury.

Thanks so much for this visual! Shrimp is a great idea, and I always forget it. My secret to getting 120-130 grams of protein a day is eating chicken breast every single day. Typically around 8 oz (cooked), dipped in hot sauce. Low calorie and high protein.

I totally understand, I agree I personally need more protein, but how are we to stay on low calories, have enough fiber as well to not have digestive issues while eating so much protein?

When I’m tracking, the grams conversion to ounces and/or pieces (shrimp for instance) is the confusing part unless the product is packaged and does the conversion for me. What would 39g of chicken breast and 23g of shrimp be in ounces for starters? I only have a measuring cup
