How to solve the Schrodinger's Equation using Numerical Computation? In this video I solve the Time Independent Schrodinger Equation using a numerical/computational techniques in Scilab.

The video is divided into two parts. In the first part, I discuss the Numerical techniques/ Approach that is needed to set up the problem. I use Finite difference method to find out the second order derivatives in the TISE.

In the second part, I build the necessary Program in Scilab based on the technique mentioned and use it to solve the cases of Harmonic Oscillator, Infinite Square Well Potential, Inverted Double Well Potential, etc

Sir, suppose I want to introduce a gaussian wavepacket into a potential. So I take my initial wavefunction to be A*e^-(x^2) * e^(ikx). From QM I know it should spread as time goes on and I get that in my program.
But in addition to that I would also like the wavepacket to have some group velocity. So how can I modify my initial wavefunction to get some group velocity?
