I spent 12 years going to the same job with incredible anxiety hoping that "ill just get used to it". I never did, and now I'm at a point in my life where Im ok staying in my comfort zone 99% of the time. Its much needed rest

I NEEDED THIS. Spent 2023 hiding away. I'm so lonely but I'm so scared of being humiliated or hurt or anxious or deregulated. Only feel safe with my dog.

I have social anxiety and i am progressing because I never used to write comments on videos because I felt like I would be judged. I wouldn’t go to any social event. It’s like I locked myself away from ever opportunity I got. But I’ve opened that door.. I am going to more and more social events and I’m commenting on videos now! ❤

For everyone debating and arguing in the comments, this tip is really only good for the more mild forms of anxiety. Not the trauma-induced anxiety. Exposure therapy, which is what this is, shouldn't be done alone nor without the guidance or advice of a therapist that understands your issues best.

ALWAYS speak to a mental health professional before taking any advice, even if it might sound easy or simple, because for people genuinely struggling it never is and never will be. You need good support before taking bigger steps like this, so don't feel inclined to act on advice like this just because someone on the internet told you to. You know what's best for you, so look after yourself first before trying to push further into hurt and pain in the pursuit of "progress".

Choosing and keeping better habits that prevent you being in anxious situations is... also progress.

Dissociating is how I cope. The past 3 years have been so traumatizing and I have dissociated so much that it is all a blur, no lie.

Stepping away from toxic relatives and friends have made my life very peaceful. And i don't wake up in the middle of the night with my heart beating like crazy anymore. I'm so much happier than how i was a year ago. Ppl who are dealing with anxiety it's fine if you decide to step away or face the problem. Do what works for you. Not every person is the same. What worked for me may not work for you, so keep trying and never give up. You'll eventually find the right way. 😊

I had terrible social anxiety my whole life, once i was going into highschool i wanted for that to go away. It had started with me just avoiding everyone and it worked for a while, but not for very long. To help myself i asked my friends if they could go to the mall with me and help me ask random strangers for directions so i could get more comfortable. My friends are the best and so they agreed, i started asking random people on the streets for directions so this could become a habit. Im very proud of myself

I am 13 years old and have had diagnosed anxiety for about 8 years. This video made me realize that it isn’t always about feeling comfortable. More about feeling comfortable when you normally wouldn’t. Thank you for that.

I know it's true, but anxiety is so overwhelming I get paralysed and can't do anything to actually progress, which makes me even more anxious. it's a vicious circle...

Anything that cuts the feeling is a win. Very few people have the time or the finances to do it the “right” way.

I was actually told to avoid toxic people and negative situations wherever possible to keep stress levels and anxiety to a minimum

This is good to hear because in the next couple of weeks I’ll be facing things I’ve avoided for along time. I worried things won’t go well but then I have to realize that I will do my best and realize I can’t control the outcome.

yes.. avoiding the fearful situation is not the solution but overcoming it is actually progress.

When I was 9 years old I had bad anxiety when I was around large groups of people eating dinner or something and I always got SUPER nervous, my mom told me that was not good so then I slowly started building confidence. Now I'm 12 years old and I'm much more confident speaking publicly and being in large groups of people and presenting alone to my class.I'm not sure how I did it but I guess I just took small steps at a time to push myself out of my comfort zone❤

Proud of myself for always being willing to face my fears, idc how scary they are. Therapy has been the best decision I’ve made in a long time.
