My partner told me a story about how he once came home really drunk when he was a teen and drank a whole bottle of barbecue sauce from the fridge, because he somehow thought it was orange juice.

I have no intention or point, this just reminded me of that story.

You can gently rub oil onto where you (or the mouse) is stuck to the trap and it will neutralize the stickiness and allow you to work yourself free. Be extra careful with a panicking mouse, it may tear skin or limbs off trying to get free if it goes from immobilized to movable. Also put some paper towel down all around the mouse so it doesn't restick itself the moment it's free.
