Im a mailwoman rn, i cannot do my shift without my gps on at all times, but i can recite the plot of every episode of Doctor Who from 2005, and i know the big speeches by heart. Doesnt matter that they're 12 minutes long and in english, that i live in France and that nobody even knows Doctor Who around me. Thats how i got into english.

it’s giving literally this morning where i spent a whole hour ranting to one of my friends about a single vocaloid song i love. he doesn’t even really like vocaloid but he’s one of my more musically inclined friends so i decided he was my best candidate for someone who might A) bother to read my rant and B) actually understand anything i said.
i shot him a message saying “i’m here to bother you again, prepare yourself” and then regailed him with paragraph after paragraph of me analysing the songs lyrics and the accompanying music videos visuals. then i went in depth about the actual music itself and all the themes, similar and details. then i went into the underlying social commentary within the song and video. and then i got even more meta and started discussing why this particular vocaloid singer (flower) had the best version of the song and why all the other covers sung in english or recorded by an actual human fall flat and cause the song to lose some of its layers of meaning thus detracting from the overall impact it has.
the song is “アブ ノーマ リティ ダンシン ガール” or “abnormality dancing girl” specifically the version by guchiry ft flower.
