In this video, Dr. Berg talks about the difference between fasting and starvation.

Fasting is when you deplete the glycogen reserves (stored sugar in the liver and the muscles) while in starvation, you already depleted your glycogen, and not you are depleting the fat reserves, the muscles and the organs are breaking down and you are using that as fuel.

Fasting is healthy because it is where you repair and starving is where you break your body down and also deplete all the nutrients.

Intermittent Fasting really works. I can't follow the Keto diet strictly because I'm truck driver. So all I did was cut out carbs and sugars, do intermittent fasting and use apple cider vinegar. I lost 50 lbs in 4 months. Watched a lot of Dr Berg's videos too for motivation and education.

Fasted for two days and felt great! No food to fix, no dishes to wash, no groceries to buy, no kitchen to clean. My body fed itself for a change. This new way of life is GREAT!!!

I love when I tell someone who’s like 300 pounds that I’m not eating for a day to burn fat and they get super offended and flip out and go all “ I don’t think that starving yourself is good! It’s going to make your body hang onto it’s Fat even more!!!”

Thank so much for this video and educating so many people about fasting. I have been eating OMAD (One Meal A Day) for the 14 months, I lost 30 pounds in the first 2 months and I have kept it off for over 1 year now. I am in the best shape of my life my waist used to be 34" and now it's 28".
I own a restaurant and I tell my customers who are on special diets or diabetic about Intermittent Fasting. So many people think that I lost weight from starving myself so I made videos on my channel to show how much food I eat in my one meal and people can't believe it. I actually eat more food now in my One Meal A Day than I did when I used to eat 4 meals combined.
Thanks again for all of your videos, you and Dr Fung are the main reason why I started Intermittent Fasting and OMAD.

I've fasted for 5 days when I started keto, and now again three months in. The difference is astonishing. I felt so good and didn't think about food much. Only had some headaches time to times but it was quickly resolved with salt and water.

Dr., thx for opening my mind about intermittent fasting. I've never felt so good in my entire life. I started doing ketosis for 3 weeks following your tips and had great results, including less 5 kg! now with intermittent fasting everything is better .. my sleep, stress, concentration and along with the exercises, lots of fat burning. srsly, I'm getting shredded. thank you so much and God bless you.

If I do an extended fast I always use salt water and no salt potassium. It works wonderfully. And refeeds are a breeze.

I fasted three times this week, every other day, just to see if my body could handle it, and it’s been working out really well. I typically have a cup of black coffee that keeps me satisfied until my first meal.

So what works for me is that I am up around 6 AM and I go to sleep around 11 PM. My last meal is between 8 PM to 9 PM. My first meal is around 8-9.


I never thought my stomach could handle black coffee Because when I drink my coffee with milk and sugar I get bad stomach pains followed by a trip to the bathroom. Now when I drink black coffee while I’m fasting I don’t have to use the bathroom at all. Maybe you could explain why that is?

What has really helped curb my snacking habits is when I watched your video on fasting and how you mentioned the difference between hunger and severe hunger. When I’m hungry I remind myself that being hungry is OK but if I start to notice signs of severe hunger then I need to listen to my body and eat something.

You need to do a video on the topic 'How Do I Know That I Am Really Hungry'. Before I started fasting a couple years ago I thought was hungry because I was bored, stressed, tired, on a eating schedule and everybody around me was eating.
