Doctor Mike On Diets: Intermittent Fasting | Diet Review

Hey guys! I've seen over and over questions and comments regarding dieting so I decided to start a series where I conduct a diet review in detail. I know many of you want to lose weight and there are many videos on weight loss out there. But I want to give you an honest doctor's take on fasting or time restricted eating.

I kicked off the series with the very popular, intermittent fasting or time-restricted eating. It's claim to fame is that helps burn belly fat/ lose your belly and it does so through fast weight loss. But is fast weight loss even healthy?

Anyway, I could go into more detail covering the smallest intricacies of the diet but I did not want to weigh down the video, both literally and figuratively. Please let me know if this is too little, too much, or just the right amount of information about intermittent fasting.

Also, I want you to remember that diets are not all about weight loss but more importantly about eating healthy. I sincerely hope you enjoy, and definitely let me know if you want more videos like this by giving it a like and a share.

My intermittent fasting is waking up too late and not having time to eat breakfast. 👍

Surprisingly intermittent fasting helped me immensely heal my relationship with food after several eating disorders. I originally didn’t have the right intentions if I’m honest… but it genuinely changed the way I viewed food and instead I realized it was fuel and I cared more about the quality of what I actually ate. Intermittent fasting has so many benefits too.

I love this. I have PCOS and I’ve tried every diet, but I started combining intermitting fasting and some recommended diets and I’ve lost so much weight! Thank you! 😁

So I’m not actually broke and starving .... I’m just .. fasting ?

Grandma and grandpa always said no eating after 5pm. And Breakfast at 8am. Grandpa is 85 and Grandma is about to turn 80. Worked pretty well for them.

We might not know the long-term effects of intermittent fasting but we do know the long-term effects of obesity which is infinitely worse.

One of the benefits I have noticed when I started intermittent fasting (finishing to eat dinner at 6 max) was my quality of sleep. I have always had insomnia and difficulties to fall asleep but eating earlier means that I'm pretty much done digesting when I go to bed and that has helped me fall asleep and stay alseep for a full night. I picked up this way of eating to match my schedule at work and it works wonders.

I hate this guy. I was suppose to sleep an hour ago. And I keep watching his videos.

In Islam we fast daily for a month ( Ramadan ) from sunrise to sunset it about 14-16 hours in my country ، besides the health benefits we do it to remember the poor people who can’t eat food whenever they want + it’s a religious month so we do more prayers 😊❤️❤️ please excuse my english I’m still learning ❤️❤️

We Muslims fast once a year for 30 days (Ramadan) and I can honestly say I look, feel so much better after that month than any other time of the year, physically and mental.

2 years and almost 80lbs gone... It's literally the only thing that's ever worked for me. I'm within 10lb of being in the "healthy" bmi range for the first time in my life. I started with alternate day fasting for about 7-8 months then went to IF(I usually just eat during the last few hours of the day.) I hardly ever get hungry before dinner time anymore. I don't even follow it every day now, but I'm still slowly losing weight. I might be crazy but it really feels like it changed my metabolism or something. I also have ALWAYS had an unhealthy relationship with food but I feel no emotional attachment to food anymore. I can't really remember when that happened exactly but thank God it did! Now I view food more like fuel or medicine. It's weird... but I love it lol. I hardly get "cravings" anymore but when I do, I indulge. I don't feel like I'm denying myself of anything and I think that's the reason it's sustainable. It's easy to get back on that horse if you know what I mean lol. I also think only being able to eat for so many hours a day made me start to think harder about the food I was putting in my body. I tend to WANT healthier foods now. Whereas before, I'd stress over how to "eat healthy." I don't know... I'm not a doctor lol but as someone who's struggled my whole life with weight, fasting has turned my world upside down😊
