We are about to start the design of a new custom home in New Hampshire. You offer good advice here, but I'm being told by my homebuilder the lead time on windows (and other items like garage doors) has increased substantially due to the pandemic, and they are ordering these items (and other materials) much earlier in the build cycle.

If you are building an omniblock, insultech or ICF home do you think it would be the same advice since you really cannot change much when it is already set or you can?

Hi Keith! Your videos are super informative. Thank you so much. What do you think about ordering the window and folding door package from China? From Alibaba.

what kind of windows do you install in your custom home? I mean specs and manufacturer for central to northern Utah.

Actually if you are getting good windows the current lead time is 8-10 weeks.

I'm an amateur woodworker, and I plan on making the windows in my home. I need thirty 10 foot tall, triple hung divided lite windows and I'm wanting them made out of sapele, teak, or mahogany(haven't decided yet.) So if I were to order my windows, they would amount to roughly 130k-150k. I can source the wood myself and I can ro the millwork myself (Infinity Tools has a really good how-to video for creating window sashes for anyone who's interested) but the one thing I'm having trouble with is finding someone to supply my glass.

Do you know of anyone who sells double pane, divided lite inserts?

Who pays for these windows, that you don’t use. You or the client?
