In this video, Dr. Berg talks about when is the best time to do One Meal a Day (OMAD). There are two parts of the nervous system called the Sympathetic Nervous System (Flight or Fight) and the Parasympathetic Nervous System (Rest and Digest).
8 o’clock in the morning is the peak cortisol or peak of the stress hormone so it is not a good idea to consume one meal a day during the morning even though your stomach is at the most acid during this time.
The best time to eat to work with the body is during the late afternoon or the evening because you are going to get maximum digestion when you are under parasympathetic control.
Parts of the Nervous System:
• Sympathetic Nervous System (Flight or Fight) – This is when you are reacting to stress.
• Parasympathetic Nervous System (Rest and Digest) – This is during the latter part of the day (Evening) when your body is winding down. ]
