That kid was molested and instead of protecting their son, they signed a shut up contract and forced their son to keep quiet for a bunch of hush money, and then when their son started acting out and hurting their daughter and other kids, they did nothing to protect their daughter and paid off the parents of the other kids to keep them quiet.

These parents are complete and utter garbage. They basically pimped out their underage son and allowed him to abuse his sister and other innocent kids. They are the exact type of people who shouldn't have children in the first place.

The actor playing this kid is ALARMINGLY good at sounding like an angry adult: excellent acting!

Why is it that parents always care more about the child that's being abusive rather than the child that's being abused?

This boy is doomed. His parents didn't protect him, no one has helped him cope with his trauma, and this kid is angry at the wrong people.

Those people sold out their own kid, they care more about the money rather than their son being sexually abused. It really infuriates me.

These parents sicken me. They signed a dodgy document to keep their child quiet just for money.
And then instead of using the money to give him the therapy he needs they allow him to self destruct and put other kids including their daughter at risk.
It's even worse knowing there are plenty of parents who do this in real life

I have a friend who was molested when she was little, around 4 yrs or so. She remembers the physical pain from the encounter, and the emotional pain from being beaten and blamed for it by her mother. She’s well into her 40’s now and she still chokes up and cries when she remembers the incident.

Such wounds from childhood never heal.

I remember this episode well. More screentime should've been invested to confront the parents, I would've love to see Stabler roughing up the dad till a breaking point and he admits what happened.

The parents are monsters. How are they allowed to keep custody of their kids? They should have been charged with something like endangering the welfare of a child.

Fact: in the ending the father and mother moved the kid out of state to keep him from testifying and the father was held in contempt as he still refused to give up the boys location and the lawyer who was appointed to look
After his sons best interest was determined to keep the father in jail until he gave in
