Losing weight on the most amount of calories as possible🔑. You shouldn’t feel deprived at all when you first start dieting! Also, it actually allows you to make adjustments to your calories if/when you hit a weight loss plateau. As opposed to starting out on a super low amount of calories (and a restrictive diet), you will have nowhere to turn if your weight stalls. Always go for the consistent and sustainable route.

One of the worst mistakes I made when I started my weight loss journey was not understanding how calories work, and the risk of causing metabolic damage by restricting too low. Lesson learned! Great video as always John.

Wait, you're 26 already?! Gosh, son, you are growing up fast. Seems like only yesterday I was a young 10 year old father with a brand new baby Beast in a bassinet. Proud of you, child.

I used to avoid your videos because I thought talk of fitness was fueling my eating disorder. But now that I’m tackling my bingeing, and my weight, I find your videos so helpful, so inspiring, and I’m SO glad you’re here spreading this message. I’m certain you’re helping more people than you realize.

I started watching your channel about a year ago and throughout this year, I've lost 70lbs. This is the only method that has worked for me.

Been on a weight loss journey for about year and some change now, and I have lost over 90lbs. 260 to 175. My best advice is learning & mastering self-discipline. Motivation is very important and can keep you going, but from my experience discipline is the key factor that will help you in the long run. Staying away from junkfood, sodas, sweets; Sticking to a worktout routine and pushing myself harder than each previous workout; learning and educating yourself about proper nutrition is a huge factor as well. It's well worth the time to do alot of research on health and wellness. I wish you all the best on your weight loss journeys. Here's a quote that I remembered well and became engraved in my head that became my main push factor: " You must be willing to do the things today others won't do, in order to have the things tomorrow others won't have." - Les Brown

As a 46-year old with a degree in Exercise Physiology, it was refreshing to see someone give GOOD, HONEST, and ACCURATE advice. Yes, BMI is not a good gauge to tell if you’re fit or not...really muscular guys are considered obese. I also love that you stress the calories in/calories out concept...and I love that you say people have to be honest with themselves, and they need to work hard. I’ve been lifting for 23 years now, and I firmly believe that it’s helped me look a bit younger than my actual age...and I physically don’t feel that different than when I was 45 years old. I initially started lifting because my cholesterol was over 200, I was 50 pounds overweight, and I hated looking in the mirror...so I decided I could either feel sorry for myself, or I could work hard to get fit. I don’t know you personally but I feel so proud of you for getting yourself in shape! 😁🤙🏽

I’m glad that he acknowledged PCOS because most people think I’m making up excuses for why it’s hard to lose weight. It’s a real thing. Thank you💙

Hey, I just wanted to say that your videos have changed my life. I’ve spent a lot of time overweight in my life, my most being about 295 pounds. I’ve tried losing weight and it’s very difficult given my physical limitations. Following your basic guide of where to start and how to lose weight I’m now down to 195 pounds, and I couldn't feel any better. I believe I needed to tell you personally. Thank you for all you do, and keep those vids rolling in. 👍
