Yes, religious narcs r out there. I met a few of them. They r very knowledgeable in the Bible and can also be very cruel. It can be very confusing.

With an emphasis on reconciliation, forgiveness, and healing, churches (in my opinion) are the single best possible place for both covert and overt narcissists to find an enabling community who will always welcome them, and even elevate them.

I’ve met a spectrum of narcissistic “Christians.” All have brought me some sort of grief and pain. But I am all too aware now, for this to continue to happen. I’ve learned to create strict boundaries and I now have peace. God has given me wisdom and discernment.

My "mom" is a narcissist. Goes to church every week + Bible study volunteers in the pantry, and watches Biblical movies all day.

I had a Christian narcissist boyfriend and the Lord told me to "end it now"!!! I am so relieved I did! Now he came back to church and "lurking around" trying to get my attention! I will not take him back!!!

I would like to add another sign to be wary of in a romantic relationship. If you are being rushed and or pressured to commit, that is a sign of something off as well. I don't mean 3 years in, I mean 6 months into the relationship there is an urgency that doesn't correlate with the time spent getting to know each other.

My daughter dated a guy in high school whose adoptive mom was a total Christian narcissist. It was a horrible experience that landed with my daughter eventually needing to see a therapist. Thankfully we are free of them now. Her poor son was such a brainwashed victim. She was one of the most horrible people I've encountered and she's still at it. Fooling people left and right.

My ex used to quote scriptures that only made sense to her. She has to win all the time, very conditional no empathy, mocks, emasculates, always calls the shots, interrupted Bible studies, demands the man leads yet doesn't submit, no trust, can't let go of things, blames accusations and hates them claims to love.
