Hi everyone, something I forgot to mention in the video is that not everyone has the means to take a leap like this and it’s not necessary for everyone! Blender can absolutely be learned in your free time, I just didn’t have any free time so I chose to work in a restaurant to fund myself, but I did rely on a savings. Don’t play into any narratives that don’t resonate with you and you are on your own unique journey ❤

One of the bravest things youve done here is not using the dark theme :)

You’re not alone! I took a leap of faith at 26 and quit my depressing dead end job. It took over of year of self teaching, multiple projects, and a failed internship, but now I’m making more money and I’m 10x happier

"clicking buttons until you find something that looks normal" is actually what most of us do, even the veteran 3ders. Really enjoying your journey. Thanks for sharing. I think you will do well. You are starting from the right place -- a strong sense for style and aesthetics. Believe it or not, "I chose this shape because it just looks cute" is a good sign your work will find practical uses in the world of design and art. Many artist fail because they lack this "feel" approach and it is not something you can teach.

Love this! I worked in live action production for nearly a decade, had been eyeing up 3D for a while but knew I'd never have the time to learn it. 2 and a half years ago, I was made redundant from a steady Reality TV job - instead of looking for other jobs in TV, I took a job as a night shift security guard at a campsite. 12 hour shifts sat behind a desk, with my only requirements to patrol the grounds once every few hours, and mop up the toilets at the start and end of each shift.

I brought my laptop in, and spent about 11 hours every night learning Blender. This lead to so many professional opportunities in animation - I've never looked back!

i learned 3d while in medical school and i've been working as a doctor for 7 years now. i still find the time to work on my 3d projects and even some client jobs. It is not impossible to do both. but i admire your bravery. I wish you the very best in your journey

Hi Daisy, I just left my job as a graphic designer. I've been doing this for about 5 years—3 years as a freelancer and 2 years at an agency. I'm 24 and will be turning 25 this October. Long story short, my last job was working at a big coffee company as an in-house graphic designer. I only worked there for about 4 months because I thought working at a big company would be more enjoyable and balanced compared to working at an agency, where everything moves quickly and takes away a lot of sleep.

The reason I ended up leaving that job was that I felt frustrated because I felt like I didn't have my own identity, as I had to adjust to the company's design preferences. I felt it was enough for me because I had this restlessness, wanting to create something for myself and do what I've always wanted to do, which is to learn 3D. I've wanted to learn 3D for so long, but I never had the time because of my job. So, I finally decided to give it a try and leave everything behind. It's really scary, but after watching your video, I felt like I'm not alone. Thank you!.

Hi Daisy Day, I'm 23 now and im currently a 3D Environment Artist in the games/VFX Film industry. Just suddenly ran into one of your video and it is really great, your videos are reminded me when i was just quit my graphic design job and follow a 3D career, especially when you talk about the fear and the comfort zone thing and believe in ourself. Its actually a really good motivation speech about life lesson to me ^^!. Thank you and keep learning, i really like your videos and will subscribe to support you.

It's beautiful to see the creative energy you had pent up be set free into all the disciplines required to make this video and the last one. You have a great eye for 3D composition, but also for video pacing and story telling. You're great at what you do, keep going!

I'm 30 and while I have a great job, I want to express myself far more creatively. I've been learning as much as I can about game development, including 3D modeling. I really hope to make something I can be proud of in the future.

It's awesome that you realized that you were just "following the script" at 25. I talk with some of my friends about the fact that a lot of us don't realize until way down the road. We just settle for what we're "supposed to do" and don't dare to step out and do something different.
I love that you're exploring something that is fulfilling (even if it's using the light theme 😁). I'm doing a similar thing with music, and it's an enjoyable process.
Interested to see what you do next!

I resonate heavily with this. I left a career in bioengineering to pursue AI Anime film making full time. Moved back home, gave up my EV (that part still hurts my soul, I'll get her back one day). I hated my old job, but now I love my new career and am now ready to start working with clients.

This gives me an idea on how to create a video to explain who I am on my own portfolio. Thanks for posting this.

I'm adding this straight into my "artistic inspiration" playlist.

Very inspirational :). I'm almost 25 and just quit my corporate game dev job as a programmer. Right now I'm a bit lost what I wanna do, but started to play around in blender and that's how I stumbled across your video. I hope your goals are met and you can do what you're passionate about. For me we'll see... :)

Keep going. Every effort is valuable, no matter the outcome. If you think you didn’t do well, remember that even those experiences contribute to your growth. That’s what makes every job worthwhile.
