I'm working until the end of this month and then I'm going to chase my dreams. I'm buying a laptop, a camera and I'm going to travel around my country and shoot videos. Wish me luck 😃

Im a nurse. I presently work 2 jobs. I submitted my resignation to both this past week. I pray this will allow me to be more mentally, emotionally and physically present for MYSELF and my FAMILY!

I work in an investment bank and it is literally bringing out the worst of me. I really dislike who I am becoming. So happy for you to have found your next role that is more align with your goals and strengths! All the best!

I will have to write another comment, because when you started talking about how work started to affect your mental health and how it all drained your energy, it was unbelievable, but it was as if I was listening to my life story. Simply, work took away my energy, mentally health, I neglected my friends and even my family, and what hurt me the most was that I stopped smiling, and people used to recognize me by my wide smile. Now it will finally come to an end, I hope, I'm going to make my dreams come true, so let it be whatever happens. I wish everyone from the bottom of my heart to realize their dreams and live fulfilled and happy lives

I quit my job on tuesday and I have been negotiating my notice period. I cannot wait to start living my life and figuring out what i'm going to do instead of a 9-5 because bills don't stop coming in.

I totally understand and resonated with you. I quit my stable job as a software engineer for 7 years when my son was born and I was very frustrated with how little time I could spend with him. You only get those years once and while it certainly wasn't the best financial decision, I don't regret it! It's only through retrospect that I realized I felt pointless in a huge corporate machine, failing to find any meaning. Now that my son is in preschool, I'm older and wiser I finally feel ready to rejoin but have to decide to pursue a more meaningful career though it actually will bring me less financial stability.

At the end of the day we only get one life and we need to really think about how we live it!

I quit my job in September 2023. I was putting in almost 9 to 10 hours a day, and they tried to force me to come back into the office even though i was told i could work from home permanently. I would have been dedicating almost 12 hours a day there(1 and a half hours getting ready driving there and back). It would have been too much stress. Also, some of the people I would have been going back into the office to work with were some of the most toxic human beings on planet earth. They were a bunch trouble makers and all I wanted to do was do my job and go home. It has been a month since I quit. I'm a lot happier and my blood pressure has dropped significantly. I'm now looking for a new position and living my best life.

Definitely contemplating quitting my job. It's a great job, but I feel like it steals my most creative/productive hours. But... quitting is scary. 🤷‍♂

I’m commenting on this 1yr later, but oh my goodness does this hit home. Sis, I completely get you when you said your previous job made you an entirely different person. I am such a kind person in general but my current job is bringing out a scary side of me because I genuinely cannot deal with this environment anymore. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m hoping I will get another job offer soon so I can leave this hell hole.

You really hit the nail on the head with the points you made. I couldn't put into words some of the things you felt that I also feel but you did a great job describing everything!

This video is so inspiring 🤩🙌🏾 I still work my 9-5 but am grateful to no longer need a job within the next couple of years. One of my good friends is teaching me wealth building principles and how to get my money working for me outside of my job, so far I got debt free! Chase your dreams guys! Jobs are great temporarily or if you went to school for it and your job calls for a degree but otherwise, there are so many other opportunities to immerse yourself in✨ wishing you the best of luck in all your endeavors!

You literally spoke to my soul, I am in the healthcare field and you’re absolutely right about everything you just said. I am currently trying to get myself out of it. I realized it wasn’t for me since I was in college but I went along with it because I invested so much already into it but I want out. Best of luck to you ❤

Today makes four days since I quitted my job. It was my dream job but the mental and physical drain is crazy. I was working in a Big Four Audit Firm. I had itchy bloodshot and teary eyes for the past two years which have cleared up just four days away from staring at a laptop for 8+ hours everyday. I feel so alien looking at people go about their business under the sun. I have an event hall that I'm working on and may never go back to corporate life. Life is short.

So true, burnout is destructive so I am giving up, taking an easier role, relaxing, getting into what I like. BS job was pointless, watching my colleagues resign, feeling crap at work.

You summarized it perfectly. I related to and thought about everything you said nearly 100%. Our time and energy is very precious and needs to be spent as such. People are afraid of instability and the unknowable future but I think it's worth taking a risk for the possible benefits and potential growth, especially when you are young.

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 5 months ago about self development. Now I have 324 subs and > 100 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I couldn’t have learned without getting started in the 1st place.
