I really hope authors never start writing each other's books, it would take all the creativity away in a different way than a music artist doing a cover. A cover song does not take nearly as long as an entire book

Authors do rewrite eachothers books, they just call them retellings and the books already take inspiration and ideas from stories to begin with, they just don't advertise that no one is original

I mean the actual point of debate is to come to a good decision that benefits the most number of people (often the result of compromise). We achieve that through critical thinking, but that is not the end goal. Otherwise we’d all be thinkers and debators producing nothing to actually improve the world.
