Running form technique takes time. Hope this video helps you! What is something you think you need to work on with your running form?

Tall people with low spm unite... The 180 spm is quite arbitrary, and I haven't seen any studies supporting it. I do agree that many people need a slightly higher spm, but it's also dynamic.

Been a drummer/mallet percussionist for 21 years. Your comparison between running and musical proficiency is spot on.

I have always struggled with cadence. Would really like it if you could do a video on how to improve cadence.

Love it! Thanks for the dope vid. Based on the way my shoes wear down, it’s become apparent that I forefoot strike on one foot, and mid foot strike on the other. Ever heard of anything like this? When I film myself running it looks like I’ve got pretty solid form, but the shoes don’t lie.

I really enjoy these types of videos! I know I need to hit the gym more but none that are close to me are open and I don’t have a lot at home; just some dumbbells and a pull-up bar

Great video. I play vibes so I also see similarities! Feel, tempo, dexterity, repetition, practice.

Great video Dr Josh. A lot of information out there, but not all is for everyone or at least not yet. Like you said, this is something that will take you months or maybe years to perfect.

Also when talking about form and engaging the core, does this mean tensing stomach muscles while running or is it more to do with posture and running tall ? Much appreciated

Thanks! One note from a very beginner such as I am: I found that closing the angle of the elbows and thus keeping my hands close to my chest makes running mid/slow paces (4:30m/km, 7:15m/mile and slower) more smoothly and facilitates higher cadence. I got the clue from a video showing East African runners. What do you think? Ever tried?

Hey Josh, love the vids. I watched a video that Sage and Sandy put out awhile ago regarding exercises/stretches for the hip flexors. I'd be really curious to get your take on this as well. I'm a "desk job" guy and I'm certain that I don't give the hips the appropriate attention, so any advice you could share would be much appreciated!

I’m about 5’7” and keeping a 180 spm when I go faster than 5:30 pace is really difficult. Should worry about that or just let it be?

Thanks for the video! My cadence usually averages around 160 SPM so that is the first thing I’ll work on. Any other tips to speed up turnover besides just shorten the stride?
