How a Narcissist makes YOU a Narcissist

Narcissistic personality disorder is a mental health condition characterized by an inflated sense of self-importance, a need for admiration, and a lack of empathy for others. And here I discuss my own personal experience living with narcissistic personality disorder. Including the symptoms and behaviors associated with this disorder, as well as how it has affected my life. I also share some of my coping strategies and how I have been able to manage the disorder, along with helping you understanding your loved ones and their behaviors that may seem almost incomprehensible and potentially hurtful. Hopefully, my channel will provide insight into what it's like to live with narcissistic personality disorder, as well as what it's like for your loved ones. Thank you for watching!

Thank you for sharing. These relationships are very painful and info like this can help people realize the situation they’re in and get out

It can be intrapsychic or behavioral.Example- In a psychotic depressive patient. i took two clinicians outside his room. I asked how tgey felt. They said fine i took them into the room of the psychotic depressive person. No words were spoken. We left the room. I asked how they feel. Basically felt like crap. Easy example a family member dies. No one speaks at this time but what they don't want to talk about gets picked up by clinician. Thomas Ogden definition. F60.81 will use projective identification. In the behavioral way - bumping into people on the psych ward constantly makes people feel intruded on. Which is what the person whose bumping into people is experiencing. But its different than narcissistic fleas which mean a person whose can pick up actions and traits. The question do they act on them? Fleas are not seen in the scientific literature. But one could speculate its a form of identification ( r/o iddntification w tge aggressor).

This is some groundbreaking stuff right here. I have never seen an explanation of all these terms with all my years of education in the medical field. Thank you !!!

That's true I was so HURT at the end of our relationship that I felt he put all his bad shit inside me. I wasn't me. He was calling me rageful at the end when I was trying to be sweet, and finally I got mad. Said some true but hurtful things. Also my mom wears no mask around me and she makes nice to everyone else, but I'm talked to bluntly and nasty. Now I feel I'm crummy with social skills being around her all the time. I can be too blunt. Ughhh

I was raised by a narc dad and I can say with great regret, that if I want to fight dirty, I certainly know how. Thanks, Dad. 😕

I've found myself taking on traits that look Narcissistic to protect myself when dealing with my son (& one other). Sadly, I've lost the 1960's Flower Girl somewhere, and am on guard to pull out my Narcissistic Armor, reflecting and reacting themselves back on them. I'm not doing it out of revenge, but to stop them from pulling their BS. I also use totally ignoring them, or i twist what they've done as something other people also aren't aware of either. So instead of them being cruel, etc, that they are ignorant of what it may be. I'd become aware of an animal in the road when i would suddenly feel my boyfriend's car excelerate. I, an animal rescuer, talk about how incredibly weak and pathetic someone must be to hurt animals, something so much smaller than themselves. I act like I'm talking about others, not directly addressing it to him. He's now become more aware and more careful in order to win my favor.

As for my ex he made me feel worthless and invisible to him. I also had to be small and not have the same rights as him. If I spoke my feelings he'd call me abusive. All things he was. Or felt he was.

Im confused if I am becoming a narcissist after being abuse by parents and ex bf narcs. I no longer trust people, and having very high expectations if someone wants to be with me, .. hay :( but I Know I still have empathy, , I dont wanna be bad, but what is happening.

I’m just curious Is a narcissist helpless to their condition or can they control their behavior?

AHH I had to go back to this video because I realized that I had projected grandiosity (before I knew I had npd) onto someone and now it’s a pain in my ass 😭 like CHILL

Interesting. 🎶 Yes, the sound is real good in this one...thx4making the change. Also, just saw the live 😎 stream for Sun. 7/31/22 - enjoyed it, funny and interesting insights. I bet there are a lot of us on your channel that wish we could befriend you and talk a bunch of this stuff out! 🌹 Take care and keep those thoughtful realizations coming. (wink) The more you decide to purposefully correct your "arrogant" thoughts over others...the more you can give yourself a break too. They have deficits and so do you and I. Granted, we get frustrated with people and situations (no doubt!) but the speech we utter and thoughts in our heart work best when we humble ourselves in that we give ourselves and others some slack...we are imperfect human beings...waiting on God to complete our perfection as we arrive in Heaven. Until then, we continue with Kindergarten. Smile. btw, I'm not Alicia but I was helping with the pronunciation. Lol. So funny (people's names can be difficult for sure).
