How 5 different trauma patterns can create the same ailment & illness

Got a question for you: How do you think it’s possible for a professional gymnast, a baby that got yanked out of the birth canal with forceps, an infant that was physically abused, a person that grew up in a war torn country, and a child that was constantly shamed and told they weren’t good enough, to all end up with the same chronic illness later in life, even though their past traumatic experiences were different?

This week’s video dives into this, have a watch.

A few more thoughts on today’s video ..

To help explain how our nervous system gets thrown off and can spiral into chaos as a result of unhealed old survival stress (aka: stored trauma), I use the visual of an orchestra and its conductor, and how without the conductor, not a lot of organized, beautiful music arises, but rather chaos and cacophony.

The bottom line here is that the nervous system doesn’t know what kind of adverse, abusive, or big scary event is taking place: all it knows is that something bad is happening, and protection and survival must go into high gear.

Thank you for this informative video! I wish I had known this months ago when covid started and that, plus all the trauma I didn't know I had, caused my severe gut issues. I wish more doctors considered this instead of just sending patients out for tests tests tests

So interesting and valuable knowledge, thanks! Not sure if it's possible to suggest/ask for topics, yet if it is, I'd be very interested in Irene's perspective and education on poor circulation symptoms like cold feet and varicose veins related to emotional trauma. Thanks again and my very best wishes 😃

Thank you for this information Irene. I have been following your work for a few years now. My youngest daughter has gut issues, manly increased stomach acid, a hernia plus an ulcer. Doctors look at us like we are crazy because they can't really find anything wrong. I have believed for awhile that it is trapped trauma. I have been reading up on it. Plus I think my son is stuck in freeze mode quite often. My first marriage was extremely abusive. My daughter suffered preterm trauma due to his abuse to me, plus witnessed a lot of abuse as a girl. Her brother was physically abused by my ex from 18mths on wards so all preverbal so he survived by shutting down and freezing. I am going to watch more of your videos, but how can I help them untrap this trauma and get things flowing again? My daughter is 15 and my son 13 if that info helps. Thank you.
