SHOULDERS, CHEST & TRICEPS Workout - Dumbbells | Tempo Week Day 1

Shoulders, triceps and chest are all challenged today! A combination of compound exercises to recruit various muscles and isolation exercises to really target the triceps… all with tempo variations, encouraging muscle growth (hypertrophy)! It will require focus and control throughout!

The timer will be on for 40 seconds each exercise with 20 seconds rest inbetween! Each exercise will be performed for 3 sets!

For this upper body workout you will need a pair of dumbbells and your mat!

The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 17.5kg each and 9kg each.

CHEST PRESS (slow eccentric)

DEADSTOP CHEST PRESS

FLYES (slow eccentric)

FLYES (slow concentric)

SKULLCRUSHER (pause at bottom)

DEADSTOP DIAMOND PRESS

TRICEP PUSH UP (pause at bottom)

X1 ARM ARNOLD PRESS (slow eccentric)
SWITCH!
SWITCH!
SWITCH!

DIAGONAL PRESS (pause at top)

FRONTAL RAISE (slow eccentric)

Finisher

2 minutes of tricep press!!

Yes! 2 minute flat out tricep burnout to finish!

Doesn’t Caroline just keep on producing fantastic, imaginative workouts for us to do! I was really hoping for a tempo training week and I’m really looking forward to this! thank you for this. i got into weight training around august of last year.. and i slowly stopped working out as i got into a toxic relationship and my mental health tanked. i also ended up getting sick and injuring my rib so i wasn't allowed to do any weight training for over a month... theeenn i moved, and then the emotionally abusive person i was with broke up with my abrubtly when things seemed to be wonderful, then ghosted me... my self esteem and motivation have been lost for months. i honestly lost myself in that relationship, as i've never felt truly confident and like myself like how i did when i was consistently weight training for 4-5 months. i hope i can get back into it, i've finally moved on, positivity has re-entered my life, and im onto more colorful and broad horizons. i know this comment is oversharing, but i really am excited to get back to my old self. i miss taking care of my body and my mind through working out. i miss the discipline and confidence. thank you for helping me bring it back.

love the purple tempo week~ many of my friends that Caroline is the best trainer! coz they dont need to do a lot of research, just follow your program, it's so effective!

Hello Caroline! I started training with you consistently since May. I have lost 5 inches off of my waist and 2 1/2 inches from my hips so far along with 10 lbs. I am a 46 y.o. female and can not thank you enough for helping me to get my body back into shape. As we get older, it certainly is not easy. We must put in that weight training work. This was super tough, but I'm so proud to report that I didn't have to use my lightest dumbells for any of the movements! I may not have used my heaviset dumbells for the compounds but I'm so glad to be seeing and feeling progress in my strength!
