Tyson does not fight in orthodox but rather squared towards the opponent. He sits low on both legs and slips laterally from the hip. He slips deep and is using a core to accelerate the hooks.

He's also been listed at 5'9". It's common for many pro boxers to be shorter and stockier than their listed height.

Most of the time, coming in like Mike Tyson will just mean eating a ton of punches. For the sole reason that 99% of the population does not have Mike Tyson's genetics, he had insane quickness, speed, power, explosiveness. The height, the build etc. Anyways this came from my trainer when I first brought up wanting to emulate my style after Tyson lol. It's true though and as a consequence every time I see some article saying "how to slip/punch with power like Tyson" I laugh to myself.

I'm really happy to hear this. I do my best to give practical advice to improve people right away.

Yes, learn it and learn all other styles as well. You'll need more than one to be effective.

Improve your uppercuts with punching drills. Shadowboxing (technique), mitt work (speed/accuracy), sparring (live practice).

Sharing your knowledge helps people learn more about you and what you do. Viewers can judge for themselves if you're legit or not and it can bring more business for your gym and more CASH, if that is in fact what they wanted.

Tyson looked good when he was in his prime but time tells the truth. There are no peek-a-boo boxers that are winning belts today. Many boxers use the philly shell. Tyson was a gangster in his day but you don’t see anyone doing it today.

It's not the style, it's your skills. If you have the ability, you can make it work. If you don't have the skills, it won't work no matter what you do. Some situations will be easier for certain techniques than others.

I'll make a helpful video on this later. There are many different ways to roll punches.

Either way you look at it, you have to use the legs. Even if your legs stay in place, you still need some energy from the legs to keep you upright and maintain balance. And using the legs can help you push the upper body to the other side. Of course the stockier you are, the easier it is to swing the upper body.

Are you referring to the video or a comment I made? It's a tricky topic to discuss. The general answer will always be: try everything. Everything has it's place. Some techniques are easier for certain fighters than for others.

The peek-a-boo is a stance, not a slipping technique. So you can pretty much slip anyway you want from the peek-a-boo stance although some techniques will come more naturally than others because of your position.

Ignorance is bliss i didn't see the big picture up until you said something. He's constantly moving giving him the advantage of defense and offense at the same time. Plus the moment from the legs to the arm is explosive. Thanks a lot guy

You can use whatever style you want as long as you're able to avoid his punches while landing punches of your own.

I love your videos man!  I practice Muay Thai/MMA but I love watching your videos and applying what you teach in the ring when I spar.  Thank you!
