The other day at the grocery store I saw the muffins I used to consume every day prior to Keto. I've been so good and I was like, get them, treat yourself, and then I said NO, it's not about treating yourself, it's about living

The more I watch this channel, the more overwhelmed I become on how complex and difficult it is to maintain health after 50.

Just thought I'd add a couple thoughts on higher quality meat discussion, from my own experience. I eat so much less cheap processed food as a ketovore and as many have experienced my problem is being able to eat enough nutrient dense food as I typically follow a 20/4 eating window. Not dogmatic about this, just don't have the cravings or appetite and enjoy the feeling of not being stuffed with food 24 hours a day. That being said I agree with Thomas that you can eat less and actually eat higher quality for not much difference in the budget, for me anyways. For the budget conscious the big Costco/Sams Clubs, etc. sell grass fed and finished ground beef in 4# packages in my market anyway, wrapped and frozen in 1# individual packages and it is not that much more than at my local butcher, who does deal in higher quality meats, though not necessarily grass fed and finished. Also if you can locate a local producer, small farm like I have outside of the suburbs of Detroit, you can often get chickens and beef direct and non cafo. Game is available from my butcher, (bison, elk, venison), and similarly you may have friends who hunt and can Be a source of clean meat. Wild caught Salmon and the Smash fish are not that hard to source either, and many people live near lakes where they can fish. I personally like Tuna and canned Salmon and Crab. Free range Happy eggs are more but locally I can get fresh eggs for $2/dozen. I feel like for me the investment in the highest quality meats, etc. I can find is just an investment in my health, and as I have been able to come off of all my medicines and don't use conventional western doctors I am saving quite a bit there. I know everyone's situation is different, and just getting off ultra processed/industrial foods and eating real food is going to get you 90% of the way there, I wouldn't stress out about the grass fed, free range, wild caught at all. It is there for those who are trying to optimize as many aspects of their health as possible, everything matters but these smaller refinements are the icing on the cake and just eating real food is the foundation of great health benefits. Fight the good fight, and eat with gladness and mindfulness, God bless.

Thanks for catering to the 50 plus folks. I'm 57 on a few months and appreciate the content.
Fortunately our SA meat is very good, very cheap, so I mostly eat a meat only diet. Some veg thrown in here and there. My favorites are the nose to tail, esp livers, tongue and oxtail.

Thank you for this, Thomas, because my parents still use Nestlé coffee creamers. I always felt it was harmful in medium to large quantities, but didn't know how. The titanium... Now I know.

My husband and I truly have been benefiting from your plethora of knowledge which has also encouraged me to do even more research, with being over 50, doing Healthy Keto and IF. I came across Dr. Bredesen and his research, and book, into “The End of Alzheimer’s”. All your knowledge into the chemistry of it all sure pairs with his research. Inflammation, insulin resistance, fasting (being good) and many other things you have brought up, Dr. Bredesen talks about and confirms it all. Even for younger people, to help prevent Alzheimer’s and other neurological (inflammatory) diseases, what we eat is vital to a healthy aging process. Strong work, Thomas. Please keep the videos coming. Much respect. By the way, my husband and I will be at a grocery and one of us will say “Oh! No, we can’t have that because Thomas said it affects the micro-buddyaddahgleebloglo” (LOL). Just a play on words we can’t remember how to pronounce, but we know it.

I get that some people just want the list so it would be helpful for reference to have the video sections marked. But I want the journal reviews. Titanium dioxide section needs a journal review. It is in lotions, cosmetics, powders and I have concerns about nanoparticles but the amount in a mentos is a concern? Is there a journal article showing reduced variety of gut microbiome from that? Almost impossible to break that stuff down without very strong acids. Or is the issue nano particles of TiO2 which I suspect could be higher levels in the blood even from using sunscreen. I don't understand. Also what is meat quality definition for this video? I like when there are more references not less. Thanks for great video info.,
