1) Added or refined sugars (watch out for it is salads)
2) Heavily processed foods (esp. with long, hard to pronounce words)
3) Industrial seed oils (ex. corn oil)
4) fried foods (they're linked to depression)
5) Artificial sweeteners

Overall, things anyone could have told you. Yet another high quality cookie cutter video with no really substantial propf to back it up.

Came here to say <physician, heal thyself> like a smartass, but noticed a bunch of commenters didn't hold back already...so I switched sides!

Truth is, the value of a person isn't measured by how they appear but the impact they have. This lady clearly has the personality to convey knowledge in a clear and compassionate way that inspires people.

There is a deep love and respect for food in it's authentic form that is sadly lacking in modern societies, but in cultures based on family and tradition the act of cooking and shared meals is a massive benefit to mental wellbeing.

And the presented facts seem reasonable basics that health advocates have been promoting for years. Sugar? Garbage. Processed food? Garbage.

The problem is that we are already habituated, so many people have never experienced real food, or know how to cook. It is a societal disaster orchestrated by the gigantic food corporations who lobby lawmakers in the name of profits... Not our health.

So I give this lady a pass. She's one of the good guys.

Great suggestions. But these 5 categories make up so much of the food / snacks offered, especially in the US because so much of the food sold here is garbage lol

Good information! I believe refined Oils are the hardest to overcome especially if don't know how to cook or if you don't have the funds to buy quality oils. Here in Central America, the locals use low quality corn oil because it's the only thing they can afford and almost all of them are overweight and have diabetes. In America, people who eat out in fancy restaurants don't know what oil the chef is using and it's probably the cheapest refined tasteless and odorless olive oil used to cut costs

I watched the “good brain food” version of this. Both are so helpful and I’ve begun implementing her acronyms!

Don't hospitals serve these toxic items?

It's really appalling that the US allows these harmful things to be deemed not harmful. Why? It's so we grow our big sickcare industry. So many have become food addicts without even knowing it and their connections to health issues. When we know better, we choose better, so get our leaders to hold our agencies accountable for our good! Did you know that most food companies actually make healthier versions to sell in different countries who demand better for themselves? We deserve it too! So say H NO! to GMO soy/corn/gluten/sugar beet/grains, etc.

Is really funny that she says all of that, when you just looking at her you can see that she consume all of that she did mention, and all that food it's what really make you feel alive and happy. Look at her cheek.

Hi Dr. Uma. Thank you for this information. Is stevia good for us?

You got her credentials wrong. A nutritional psychiatrist is a physician (a doctor, an MD), not a nutritionist.
