I prefer to have a whole foods plant based diet but I also apply veganism to other aspects of my life. I always try to eat the GBOMB foods. G=Greens B=Beans O=Onions M=Mushrooms B= Berries but I also include seeds, nuts, grains and legumes.

I do a combination of both plans and it works wonderfully for me. I eat plant based but also incorporate plant based healthy fats. I did not thrive on a high carb plantbased lifestyle. I now eat high healthy plant based fats, moderate plant based protein and low plant based carbs and I am thriving.

Thank you Dr Newman, I too used to eat a lot of eggs, oily fish and chicken and I was always hungry and craving carbs literally day and night. As a 57 year old petite woman however, I cannot afford to eat so many grains and legumes, hummus, nuts and seeds and avocado, or I will put on weight immediately, as you age you have to be a little more careful and up the veggies and fruit and potatoes or sweet potatoes, and reduce the more calorie-dense wholefoods. But not to worry, you can still eat a lot and feel full while maintaining your health and slim weight. I am 3 years WFPB and still refining my diet, very happy I made this choice, there's definitely no turning back for me!

I changed my diet to plant based 2 years ago. Lost loads of weight and feel like a young man. I'm 56 and feel great, no medications whatsoever. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND IT. I wish my ill friends & family members would hear me. Sadly many of them think this Keto diet is good for them. They refuse to believe meat is bad for them.

I did keto for a few months before making the connection and going vegan and holy shit those were a rough few months, nearly passed out at the gym once. Felt so strange having to eat so much fat all the time, it was only after going vegan and feeling amazing (physically, mentally and emotionally) that I realized how bad it really was for me. And yes, I did it right, I'm not the type to try a new diet without doing a bunch of research first.

I think you guys should do video's on long term vegans. I see a lot of stuff on the carnivore camp saying veganism isn't possible long term which is why so many people are abandoning the lifestyle. Also possibly make videos on how to make it sustainable long term as I'm sure many people must fall into traps of not taking certain nutrients and vitamins.

I’m facing a family history of heart disease and early deaths and I’ve been fasting and keto and lost over 50 pounds in the last year. But my recent diagnosis of an aortic aneurysms has made me rethink my diet. I started eating about 80% vegetarian and amazing my bp dropped so low I’ve cut my medication in half. I got a cardiologist appointment today to see what is happening with my aneurysm. I’m expecting good news. They say these things never shrink or go away, I’d like to change that. I’ve never had any health issues but high bp due to being overweight.

My experience on Keto diet = gained weight, high cholesterol, muscle cramps, terrible mood, poor libido, bad mental state, heart arrythmia and finally stroke. Keto brings you closer to death earlier. I changed to whole foods plant based diet = lost 10 kgs, no more muscle cramps, no more heart arrythmia, much happier, more creative, much higher sex drive... I dont understand how low carb is not forbidden yet.

I am in week 3 of Whole Foods Plant Based. I feel fine. Lots of greens in broths or smoothies. Avocados, nuts, bean dishes, berries, etc. I’ll be 53 next month. I lost 16.5 pounds last month (August 2020). Intermittent Fasting too.
