A caloric deficit and massive weight loss is not whats causing the hair loss. No one knows for sure what is causing hairloss with semaglutide. My guess its the medicine itself or maybe a vitamin deficiency, like b12, bc it seems at 3 months of taking it is when the hair loss starts. Its crazy that actual drs dont know the real reason.

I'm on ozempic I have type 2 diabetes. I have been on it a year in nov and have only lost a Lil over 20lbs in that time. I do not think 20 lbs over a year is drastic weight loss and I've lost a ton of hair. This drug definitely causes significant hair loss ...I can see right through may scalp. I'm going to taper off of this shot before I have no hair left

It's not the weight loss. It's absolutely the medication itself. I've been endlessly searching this topic. Everyone says the same thing. Directly after taking the shot, the shedding is overwhelming. Around day five after the shot, it tapers off, only to start all over again when taking it two days later.

As a type 2 diabetic, I've been on ozempic 1ml for almost 2 years no insulin required. I've lost my initial 45 lbs a year ago and maintained my current weight. About 3 months ago, I noticed excessive hair shedding the full length, no breakage. Nonthing seems to be working🥺

A friend of mine is on Ozempic but was told it was to help reduce her sugar levels not for a diabetic weight loss treatment although that seems to be the miracle side affect? Your description of Ozempic is a bit confusing. Also, my friend has noticed some hair loss and while she has lost some weight, she has not had a massive weight loss. Maybe 2-4 kilos.
