The hair loss is more than likely the result of their diet and not the medication. You need to ensure you’re getting you nutritional needs met otherwise you will see hair loss. I’ve lost 128 lbs while improving my diet and exercise and have no side effects or hair loss. Hope those who have lost hair can recover and be healthy

I have been on Mounjaro for T2 Diabetes since about May or June of 2022, and I am currently taking the 15mg/.5ml dose. I have had would could be the sulfer burps twice now with diahrea. Most recent event was this past weekend. It resolved after about 24hrs. I was diagnosed T2 in April of 2022 with an A1C of 8.2ish. Current A1C is 5.6, my Triglycerides are below 200 for the first time in almost two decades, and I have lost about 40lbs. SW 305, CW 263ish. I have not experienced any hair loss.

Those that have lost significant amounts of weight are actually quite suprising to me the amount they have lost, especially when some are reporting losing like 100lbs in less than 6 months. My weightloss has been more slow and steady, and at times it would seem to plateau for a few weeks before resuming. I have made effort to limit highly processed foods, but I have lots to do to continue to improving my diet.

I don't drink soda anymore, but I do like my morning coffee with some Raw sugar in it, and for those that want to wag their finger at me about it the amount of sugar I put into my morning coffee is barely a blip compared to the cans and bottles of soda I used to drink, so keep your opinion to yourself, especially since my Blood Glucose barely budges from the small amount of sugar I put in my coffee. I have my diabetes under control, and my diabetic team is well aware of my little bit of sugar I intake.

So far I have lost 81 pounds on my journey. That would be 75 pounds of fat and 6 pounds of hair. That is the only side effect I am having. It didn't start happening until I moved up to the 7.5 mg dose. I have been on Mounjaro since Jan 2023. Originally it was recommended because of type 2 diabetes. The pounds just melted off of me. I am staying on it, even if I am bald. My A1C has dropped to 5.1 and I feel healthy.

People are freaking out about their hair falling out. 🙄
The reason their hair is falling out is for a very obvious reason, the same reason that people who have weight loss surgery lose hair. They are losing weight fast and not getting enough protein.
I make sure I get plenty of protein and I have not lost any hair and I’ve lost 50 pounds.
I lost that 50 pounds fast. Within three months.
Protein, protein, protein!

I have lost 50 pounds since November on mounjaro. I’ve had the nausea, diarrhea, and the sulphur burps. I agree with the other lady…it is worth it

I have been on Mounjaro since November. I have lost about 37lbs and I’m experiencing pretty major hair loss. I don’t consider 37lbs in 6-7 months huge or extreme weight loss. I do feel like I have lost considerable muscle mass even though I try and keep my protein up. But I am beginning to become very concerned about the hair loss. I don’t think I can wait 6mo for the weight loss to even out and my hair to grow back, I will have bald patches. 😢

I have lost 78 lbs but not fast. In an 18 month period. I am type 2 diabetic and several months ago, could no longer find the drug Trulicity (dulagutide) in any pharmacy that takes my insurance, so I went on an exercise binge. Ive slowed in my weight loss, but have been experiencing hair loss. Frankly, the great control of and partial reversal of my diabetes has been worth the side effect. I am taking much less oral meds and insulin to control my blood sugar. Of course the hair loss could be genetic.

I’m taking ozempic and I had none of these side effects but I also am not losing any weight. I didn’t get any nausea, no hair loss etc. The only thing I’m getting is bad reflux. My sister lost 40 lbs on ozempic and she he isn’t losing her hair. People are getting all hyped up with this and trying to scare people…people with diabetes have to take this daily!!

I am 65 and stayed during the pandemic to lose weight own. I lost about twenty pounds that way and then I learned about Mounjaro. I'm a T2 diabetic and the doc thought it would help to bring my A1C down. At the highest I was at 7.6 and the drug brought it down to 5.5. Suit starting about 8 months ago I am now at 7.5 mg and have lost another 30 pounds. But for about the last five or six months I have experienced hairloss and thinning. Sometimes my scalp hurts. I don't think I'm losing weight rapidly but I have noticed I eat a lot left. I don't know if that has anything to do with it but I am one who has that side effect. When I reach my target weight, which is another 20 lbs, I will begin to wean myself off the drug, if possible, to see if it changes.

It didn’t do a thing for me.
I’m a T2 diabetic and Ozempic was recommended as a miracle drug for me.
Made me constantly nauseous across 3mths of use.
I’m not normally outrageously thirsty considering my higher blood sugars but this stuff literally stopped any thirst I had, it was an effort to sip water.
My A1C never changed though and I actually gained a bit of weight during the 3mths!!
I figured a healthy thirst was aiding my body eliminate sugar from my bloodstream, meaning Ozempic was actually exacerbating my diabetes not helping it!!
I did go off it cold turkey due to supply issues but I went through hell as my blood sugars exploded and I got so thirsty I thought my belly would split open from all the water I was guzzling!.
The nausea persisted for almost a month after I stopped.
Overall a terrible experience for me with zero results controlling diabetes and weight gain not loss as promised.

I was on Ozempic for about 6 months. I lost about 40lbs, but I also had severe side effects, stomach cramps, throwing up, diarrhea, nauseous all the time and just lay in bed when they hit, which seemed to be every day.And now I realize I believe my hair loss was also a side effect. I’m off it now and have . I gained 15 lbs. my Doctor felt that the once week injection was to much for my system all at once.

I didn't lose hair, but I lost a lot of weight! I drink large amounts of water and eat very clean -even more so now since on Ozempic and my hair is actually longer and healthier, and my cycles are STILL like clock work ❤ I feel like my 16 year old self from a very long time ago.

The hair loss is NOT the medication. I have had two Bariatric surgeries and both times I lost hair, lack of protein and nutrients, and/or shock.
I am currently on tirzepatide (Mounjaro) and my advice is to take multivitamins with iron (esp women), eat enough of the right calories, low fat protein and you can slow, or prevent hair loss. Red light therapy can also help some people (it slowed my loss tremendously).
To prevent “sulfur burps” and gastric side effects, avoid these foods:
fried foods, high fat foods, carb content of more than 10grams/serving and keep gluten intake as low as possible.
