Why did God kill the Amorites (Canaanites)?

When opposing the Bible, people will commonly bring up the subject of God commanding Israel to kill the Amorites (a group of the greater Canaanite people). How do we as Christians defend the Bible when it comes to this topic? The evidence is right beneath our feet... literally!

I just read Leviticus for the first time tonight and I had a lot of questions about the ritual child sacrafice. I was shocked and sickened to hear of these sins and atrosities. Thank you for making this video, it provides additional context.
Also, Lev. 26: 14-46 seems like a warning for much of what is wrongly praised and occuring in society today. It was very eye-opening to discover.

It’s honestly essential in my opinion to show people these historical documents, videos and stories of these places because it’s one thing to read yourself or listen to someone read about these places to you from the Bible. It’s another to actually see the remains of what was and the culture of these people.

It helps put a lot of things into perspective and shows a lot of the depravity of what happened in a lot of these places that the Bible didn’t go into detail about.
