Why does God kill innocent people in the Old Testament but commands us not to do so? In doing so, does this not make God both a murderer and a hypocrite? Why does God kills and order His people to kill entire nations including babies and seemingly innocent people? I believe a lot of people having problem with this teaching not because God is unfair, it's because of the way humans look at death...

We tend to see death is the end of all things or something bad... To God I believe it's like saying going from one room of the house into another room of the house...
When a person graduates from high school for a lot of people this is the last time there will ever be a student in their life is this a bad thing or do they transition into adulthood???
Death is not the end of life it's just the beginning of forever...

I've worked as a foster care caseworker and really struggle with understanding why there are children that are hurt. I now recognize that sin is in the world and Satan is real. He infects the abuser. I pray that God protects them.

I have a brother which once told me he has problems believing in a God that ordered children killed. My response was that God had his reasons... that the entire society was wicked. You just gave me additional information I can use to answer such questions.

Thank you for this video. I think that is a question that any of us who’ve been on the border of becoming a Christian have wondered. It’s taking me a long time to come to the understanding of why these things are allowed in the world. You make some really good points about why God kills – especially the first one, that we all die!I think the other thing that has been occurring to me about this topic and others in general about life is that after many decades here you start realizing there’s no rhyme and reason for a lot of it. And there’s a form of acceptance that you have to finally get to. And that comes from understanding that God has a vision that is out of our reach. The Utopia that the secular or new age wants it’s not realistic and kind of delusional. Most of us have been deceived by what the world and the humankind thanks is achievable by her own hand. If you really look around you’ll see that centuries have gone by and we still keep doing the same things to each other and ourselves. There is a plan, we’re not privy to all of it, and it makes us question why God seemingly kills innocent ones. And until you dig a little deeper you will “wonder” why instead of know why. I think that a lot of us are in denial of the underlying brutality of being on this planet, but if you stop being entertained and distracted you’ll begin see the truth and it makes it easier to understand.

God is God. He made everything everything around us. We are all born sinners, to begin with. One minute to a hundred years of life, we all will die sometime. Those who are destined to Hell will go to Hell. Those who are destined for Heaven will go to Heaven. We don't understand the mind of God. To help in doing so I suggest you read the Bible. Multiple times, understanding God will be better understood. Do not doubt God. Do not mock God. God is sovereign.

So, it could be God's MERCY in taking the lives of the babies who may have grown to become evil. And God knows what they would have been as adults.
You did an excellent job in this presentation, brother. Thank you! I shared your video with Marty Sampson, a Hillsong songwriter who has recently declared he no longer is Christian. I read that one of his reasons is due to his inability to understand how God could kill the "innocent" in the Old Testament. So when I saw the title of this video, i HAD to watch and to share it to Marty Sampson's facebook (message). It's really very upsetting to see a once on-fire-for-God leader of worship fall from faith. Reminds me of lucifer in this respect. (Wasn't he a worship leader as well?)

And ultimately, (I always say this to people when discussing this or a similar subject)...Where we see but one page, God sees the WHOLE book.
Who are we to judge God, Who is only righteous? How can we possibly understand His thoughts? How arrogant to think we could possibly know MORE than God Almighty. Man takes the notion of "goodness" and applies his own definition of it to God, completely ignorant of the vastness and majesty of God! Like God told Job "Now brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall inform Me! 4Where were youwhen I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me,  if you have understanding. 5Who fixed its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched a measuring line across it?…" Job 38:3-5 
I think it comes down to humility...it is essential we know our place....and it is essential we REVERENCE God, knowing what Abraham understood...that God is always righteous and He is always good, regardless of what He asks of us; regardless of what He most assuredly has a right to do. 
I'm starting to understand HOW there can be a great falling away/apostasy in these last days...because today there is less reverence for God...there is less humility....more pride....people being falsely taught that Jesus is our "brother" instead of our God Who deserves to be worshiped. Kids are not being trained to respect parents....and in this, they are not being taught to respect other authoritative figures in their lives, including God.

The Bible's description of God makes more sense if we see it not as the description of a being that is by our definition perfect, but as an attempt to explain in terms of a god the world they knew, and the past as they thought it had happened, So their ancestors killed children, or they thought they did, and to justify them they made it a divine command; and the terrible things they saw happen around them, happened because they were God's will.
