Helpful. God did not let Moses enter the promised land, but gave him a glimpse. However, eternally speaking, Moses did enter God's Kingdom (read in the Gospels what happened at the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ). Amen

You explained that really well, because I was confused at first after reading that scriptures. Thank you so kindly for that answer.

Hmm...I'm not completely sold on this response. It seems to me that there is actually missing text here or this text is misplaced because it does not flow with the direction that Moses is now being obedient to. Additionally, right after this text God tells Aaron to meet Moses in the wilderness which references back to verse 14. So how can Moses be on his way to Egypt, but Aaron meets him in the wilderness on the Mount of God i.e. Mt Horeb?

The text in between is misplaced and/or text is missing.

Why not just telling moses to correct himself? Instead of trying to kill him?

Moses's son, a grown man of maybe 35 years of age hears that God will kill Moses unless his mother of 55-65 circumcises him. His response: I guess I'm going to be an orphan.

God sought to kill the son of Moses NOT Moses! First and foremost IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THAT GOD WOULD TRY TO KILL MOSES! WHY? We have Isaiah 55:11, "

so is my word that goes out from my mouth —it will not return to me unfulfilled;but it will accomplish what I intend, and cause to succeed what I sent it to do.”  GOD HAD TOLD MOSES THAT HE WAS CHOSEN TO FREE THE HEBREWS IN EGYPT FROM SLAVERY AND TO FULFILL THE COVENANT GOD HAD MADE WITH ABRAHAM!

Ezekiel 12:25 repeats the message!  So the WORD was sent and it could not come back void!  GOD was obligated to protect Moses and give him all the resources necessary to complete that which Moses was chosen to do! The same with Jonah! Running and hiding could not stop the word of GOD and eventually Jonah fulfilled what he was chosen to do! This is also repeated in the case of David and of course Yeshua (Jesus)!  Furthermore the original Hebrew texts NOT THE TRANSLATIONS is very important! The pronoun "him" is the key! The original Hebrew text gives us the answer! The pronoun "him" used in the original Hebrew is 3rd person masculine singular! So this verse is referring to the son of Moses, NOT Moses! Here are the original texts of both times it is used; First at "God met him" original Hebrew is (וַיִּפְגְּשֵׁ֣הוּ), Second at "to kill him" original Hebrew is (הֲמִיתֽוֹ׃) The original Hebrew is 3rd person masculine singular in both case! So with the pronoun "him" referring to the son of Moses, the verse makes sense! So God came across the son of Moses and Zipporah and was about to kill their son then Zipporah acted by circumcising her son to save his life! NO CONTRADICTION, NO CONFUSION! GOD IS NOT A LIAR! AND NOT A MAN THAT HE SHOULD CHANGE! MOSES WAS CHOSEN AND HAD TO COMPLETE WHAT HE WAS CHOSEN TO DO! Moses could not be killed or harmed or blocked in anyway from doing what God chose him to do so that the WORD of God would not come back void, but complete the purpose for which it was sent! Interesting point here is that even if Zipporah had not circumcised her son and God had killed his son, Moses would still have done everything the WORD of God had been sent to accomplish through him!

Thanks for the answer (subbed). So, God was going to kill Moses for disobedience? This is prompting more questions.

That really doesn't answer the question

The CJB translation makes way more sense for this verse.

Sorry Wrong explanation. Moses did not have the law yet in that time and circumcision was not the part of the Moses law that God gave. Circumcision was the sign of covenant in between God and Abraham and his descendants. It was not a law. That means it could not be a reason why God wanted to kill the Moses. Just because God didn’t kill him after his son circumcision that doesn’t mean circumcision was the reason. The reason was same with God wanted to kill all Israel, and start a new nation from Moses.

GOD loves you enough to send HIS only SON to save you and if you repent and turn from your sins and be baptized in THE NAME OF THE FATHER, THE SON and THE HOLY SPIRIT. ((if you haven't )

Moses was already killed. Think about it. The guy who claimed to be Moses looked different because he "apparently saw the face of God" then he went on to wear a veil thereafter.

An imposter took his identity
