Sadly, the best one is the one you can afford right now.

As a linux user AMD is my preferred brand of card. That's important to mention if you're not planning on running windows or even dual booting.

I've owned 2 Geforce cards and 2 Radeon cards. My experience has been better with AMD. I am excited about Intel entering the market to increase competition.

Had my hands on a 3080ti and a 6800xt. While the 3080ti generally was better I kept the 6800xt as it was $1100 cheaper

Honestly for me, it's all down to nvenc that's the deciding factor for me. The encoding it has and the quality is just amazing without any performance hindrances.

I think overall Nvidia wins expect pricing but I prefer AMD since the cards seem to last way longer and stay relevant for alot longer

I saw a vid on Moore's Law channel about a month ago. Part of it talked about ray-tracing and the price of it. Apparently there is a new form of global illumination coming along, which works like ray tracing. However it doesn't have the massive perormance hit of ray-tracing. ... Apparently the performance hit of ray-tracing is because the rasterisation is done first. (At which point a non-ray-traced image would be complete and displayed.) Then the ray-tracing is laid over the top of the image. Hence the frame rate drop.

The new or more advanced form of global illumination, works like ray-tracing but is baked into the image. It's done at the same time as the creation of the image. ... It was in one of those talky vids that Moore's Law does where he talks to a guest. On this occasion is was a game-developer who was in conversation.

I've used both AMD and Nvidia personally I prefer nvida, just for its ease of use and its encoder, but I recently stumbled upon a 6600xt which is a exponentially better than the 1650 I was using. So I feel I'm just impartial at this point. Just going for what works.

I got a 6800 xt since that's what I could get at the most "reasonable" 2021 price. It's been a total beast I must say

You are right about the 4-5 years per GPU, I've had 1080ti for going on 5 years now....not sure how much longer it is needing to run for at current prices.

AMD cards are a must for online shooters. I understand that Nvidia cards are the best for raw rendering power.. but you guys need to realize that Team Green has double the latency of AMD cards. Anyone who plays Battlefield or Warzone multiplayer should be mindful of this.

amd age better. ray-tracing is at least two gens awaysss from being good and cheap enough for most.

Had a old laptop, couldn't run anything... Bought the 6600xt just to last 2-3 years and upgrade sooner when prices are better, now I can play the games I want

Great video. Helpful explanations. People trying to push me to Nvidia but currently as of now rx 6700 xt for 520 or 3070 ti for 760. That price difference vs the minimal performance difference is crazy to overlook.

I've had both AMD and Nvidia cards, and I've had a better overall experience with Nvidia & Gsync (will be sticking with them for now), though i will always be an AMD fanboy at heart.

Will you send me a good Nvidia gpu for gaming, there is none in stock where I live for another year? Please

I got a great deal on a 6600xt (2060 cards were being sold for more) and I don’t care about ray tracing, so I’m happy

In the end, noone is going to care after 5 years, so get whatever you want that works best for you in your price range. Then rinse and repeat during your next upgrade cycle.

looking at most of the benchmarks between graphics cards, AMD usually seem higher in thermal heat, the Nvidia's usually have a tad bit fps
