My opinion on this is that Nvidia offers more features for the enthusiast gamer and that AMD generally offers better price to performance for the practical gamer.

Whatever Brand you choose, just enjoy it, also don't make purchases just because someone say so, i am on team Red but if i would get a Nvidia card my sentiment would be the same, whatever card you get as long it runs properly and do stuff you want it doesn't matter that much, in the end as long you happy with your purchase is all that matters.

I went from a 2070 SUPER to a 6800XT and must say I'm really happy. Destroys everything at 1440p and runs really cool and quiet in my H7 Flow.

I'm actually building a new PC this week (Ryzen 7800X3D), and I've been finding your vids top notch for information, especially since these last couple months have been crazy for price cuts. However I might stick with my old GPU for 2 weeks or so because Prime Day is just around the corner, and I might get a bargain.

My conclusion would be:

For competitive gamers, AMD takes the cake in price to performance no questions asked. Competitive players don't need any of Nvidia's features like Ray Tracing or Frame Gen.

For professional rendering and similar stuff, Nvidia still has way better support for most of the applications. Cuda support is coming to AMD's existing cards in the shape of rocM, but we are not sure if that'll be soon or in 2 years.

In AAA titles it's more of a mixed bag.
If you want to future proof for the upcoming titles, you need the VRAM of AMD cards for the improved effects and textures of the new gen games, while still being able to run slightly lighter Ray Tracing.
If you're planning on utilizing all the latest and heaviest RT bells and whistles, you need Nvidia due to their better RT capabilities and Frame Gen to support it.

RTX 4080 & 4090 can do all of the above though, but they're not worth it compared to the RTX 4070 and the RX 7900 series, unless you simply have too much money to spend.

In that case, since there is no front intake, you are better off turning your CPU cooler around and using the back fan as intake. It will use fresh air from the back of the case as intake to feed directly the CPU. If you do that, offset the top exhaust fanst too. Put them as much on the front as you can, to avoit the most back fan sucking the fresh air in between the back and the CPU cooler. My CPU temps are way better now. Previously it was sucking the 400w GPU hot air and it was horrible.

The pc I'm watching this on has a gtx 970. I bought a 7900 XT and am going to build a PC this week for myself. I think the performace increase will be something like 800% or more and that's on 1440p. I'm now using 1080p. This pc has served me for 10 years no problem and I'm giving it away to someone I know who is crazy about minecraft. This pc runs even heavily modded minecraft well till this day.

I still have a 2070 Super and i think i may go AMD for my next card. I like the fact that AMD cards are performing really well at cheaper prices compared to Nvidia.

I play games and I'm a heavy user of Photoshop and Lighroom for photo editing. Which card do you recommend?

I'm currently on team Red with a RX 6800. But my gpu progress has been interesting.
gtx 650ti, GTX 970, R9 Fury X, Vega 64, GTX 1080, RTX 2080 and now RX 6800. I'm use to the pros and cons of both teams and will use either one. Both are good. (I also always buy used and just get the best deals I can)

I am building a 7800x3d system also and just got a killer deal during the weird $100 off day for a 7900xtx (battle between NewEgg and Amazon) and the new card should arrive today. Every part I purchased for my new build was a deal on sale (even Win11Pro for $23 from TechSpot yesterday), my overall build savings is $621 including two free games. Additionally, I cannot stand the lack of ethics or customer orientation by nVidia (though I admit the MSI 4090 AIO was tempting). I also want to see if the 7990xtx with an AIO materializes this year with 30% better performance than the 7900xtx - fun times in gaming!

Could someone help me out with planning my next build? I have a gaming pc now but I was thinking of ordering a new custom PC through Digital storm and using my current one for other stuff. Not sure what all parts I should go with though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning to build my first PC and I was planning to buy an RX 6800XT for my gpu, however here in the Philippines here I couldn't find any. Should I just get a RTX 4070? or wait for RX 7750XT or RX 7800XT?

Can’t go wrong with Nvidia or AMD. It’s just depends if you want RT or not. But for me going with a 5800x3d and a 6950xt I saved a good chunk of change. And these days that’s most important.
