I have an RTX 3060, playing @1440p and enabled raytracing once in Spider-Man, saw the big drop of fps and decided to enable dlss. After 1 minute of playing with both enabled I just said nah, I dont need fancier lightning and shadows, I just want to play at pretty much high settings with native resolution.

Usually Nvidia Gamers are die hard loyals, while AMD buyers are practical's they don't support AMD it just that they don't really like to buy a product with outrageous price tag, some is just realistic on what they can afford. As for Ray tracing just wait for FSR 3 and see how AMD's Radeon 7000 implements their ray Tracing on games

My preference in the past 2-3 years has shifted to AMD. Nvidia pushes RTX wayyy to much and is quick to abandon their older GPUs. Which isn't the case in AMD

As what I tell my friends when it comes to AMD and NVIDIA. Are you going to use DLSS even though AMD has FSR and is improving rapidly/has almost the same performance? Are you going to use the AI on NVIDIA? Are you going to use Raytracing? Are you going to be using Adobe products? No? I personally say get AMD, most of the cards anyways have the same performance or even better especially if you have a AMD cpu and use SAM memory.
It should be known by now that with anything PC it involves the key phrase "It depends".

raytracing? a mirror effect on surfaces, e.g. bed covers, which, when I look at my bed, really don't exist at all.. so a magic effect to blind people, that's great?

I’m pretty happy with the all AMD laptop I got a while ago. It was on sale, so I got it for like 35% off, and I’m able to run every game very well. I do have ALOT of issues with drivers, but I found a semi-stable one (only have driver timeouts and crashes periodically now 😭).

i have an rtx 3080 and the only time ive used the RT cores is in cyberpunk. Ironically the minecraft clips shown are not even using RT cores so AMD might probably even beat Nvidia in java minecraft with raytracing shaders. So yes I think raytracing is a complete gimmick and you should not buy one card over the other because of Raytracing

RT on the 7000 series is actually decent. When you're already getting stupid high fps at 1080/1440 losing some ain't a big deal even if Nvidia handles it better.

in many cases rtx isnt even that noticable in some games and just decreases the fps. Though i am interested in trying it out, i wont bother buying an rtx card when amd gpus are cheaper. DLSS is also becoming irrelevant when FSR 3 is on it's way. Even though AMD is slow on this stuff, its still worth waiting for instead of buying NVIDIA

I mean... the nvidia minecraft raytracing is actually not rtx but rather just a ray tracing shader that works on both graphics cards smoothly

I'm neither a nvidia nor AMD fanboy, but if someone is willing to pay 1000+$ for a GPU (which is frickin' insane) then Raytracing should be kind of a must or option. And in that case, nvidia is leading.
