Today is day 529 of tracking all of my intake with MyfitnessPal, and I can say I would not have made the progress I have made without it. The key is to plug in your food BEFORE you eat it..if you're really motivated, plug your entire week of food intake ahead of time. Hit your protein goals, keep the fat around 25-30%, fill the rest with carbs...eat what you'd like within those parameters and you're good to go.

These calculators might not be exact, but as long as we are consistent in using it within their “inexactitudes” we can track macros within the ranges we need

In your experience what is the "ceiling" for natural muscle gain in a year? I know person to person is different but like a solid average?

i was wondering if you could make a video on the macros of different protiene sources e.g. fish, chicken(mince/breats/leg/whole), beef(mince/steak) etc
also how do we know the fat content in red meat because the butcher's i buy from dont have the fat % on the meat.

Great info as always. You need to create a food tracking app.👍🏻your calorie calculator is great. A food tracking app would pair nicely with it.

I’m 43. 5’7 165 about 25% body fat. Flabby. Set up macros for 40 40 20 split on 1200 calories. So far don’t seem to be cutting any fat or losing inches but afraid to cut more calories. I was 200lb in January and lost most of my weight fasting. Resistance training 3 to 4 times per week currently. Any advice on deficit?
I have never been athletic or muscular my entire life and was as fat at 38% body fat and 235lb a few years ago.

Hi Paul,
great video..i was wondering if you can help me. I'm 5'7 and 44 years young. I go the gym 5 days a week for about 2 and half to 3 hours but after that i sit on a desk and work 9 - 10 hours a days.

I'm currently on a calorie deficit. i started cutting down mid march. my starting weight was 170lbs and 19.7% bodyfat, i was eating about 3600 calories a day because i was bulking up until that point and was able to gain 10 pounds in 3 months in the process. i started cutting 200 calories every week in average. currently eating 2350 calories a day, Carbs 48%, Protein 32% and Fat 20%. as of today I'm 156lbs 12.3% body fat. my goal is to get to 9%. i have 2 questions:

1) Can i continue to drop calories? or stop here? the times that i stopped dropping calories those weeks my weight, fat and muscle numbers didn't change. so i feel like i need to continue to drop to get to my 9% goal. if so, how low can i go before my body starts eating my muscle for fuel?

2) are my macros percentage ideal for what I'm trying to achieve? Carbs 48%, Protein 32% and Fat 20% or should my fats be higher and lower my carbs to use fat as the fuel source?

I hope it made sense and it was clear enough to give you a good picture of what I'm doing.

thanks
